ACCURATEin Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Hello everyone! I used to enjoy spending hour after hour, day upon days with lego bricks as a younger child. And now, at the age of 25, there has a been a rekindling of the lego spirit instilled within me. I'm not sure why, but perhaps because lego bricks are so cool. haha Recently I have purchased some of the newer aged town sets, and will be morphing them together with some of the older sets that i have from the 1990s. We took some pictures of the beginning of our lego town. The sets are all strewn about in an unorganized fashion, so apologies for that. Over time, the city will become more established and have some organization to it. Enjoy the pics from LEGO CITY!!! Breaking ground! ...more pics momentarily... Quote

Welcome out of your dark ages mate, nice to see there's also other LEGO fans such as myself who have sort of missed out on the last 10+ years in terms of LEGO comings and goings but are not giving up just yet :P Have fun (re)building your city, hopefully we'll be seeing a few pics of your first fresh MOCs soon! I've been a fan of the city sets ever since I was a child. I'm glad you like the photos! I have found the lego sets are fun to photograph as there is so much detail in them that it makes for a fun time. And yes, the forklift is awesome. I love it! Hi and welcome! EB is a great way to further appreciate LEGO. You have a fine collection, maybe you should do some reviews? Hello and thanks for the welcome! Eurobricks seems to be one of the coolest lego forums that i have come across in the search. I am thoroughly enjoying looking at everyone's ideas and creations. I am getting so many ideas in my head i think it's going to explode! Perhaps i should do some reviews on some of the sets. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Perhaps i should do some reviews on some of the sets. We're always looking for image reviews. Pinned under the main Trains & Town Forum is the Review Index. You can check out what sets have been reviewed and which ones have not. It would be even better if you have some of the sets that haven't been reviewed yet. Quote
ACCURATEin Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 A small MOC! The Honda F1 Earthdreams racecar... My girlfriend made a couple of additions to the creator house set... Hope you enjoyed! It would be even better if you have some of the sets that haven't been reviewed yet. I'll have to check into that section of the forum and make some contributions to the database! Quote

Guss Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Hello and welcome there! it seems that's you're coming back from your dark age seriously ! buying so many set so rapidly ! Quote
Carbohydrates Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 All three of the CC sets; I see you're quite serious about this! Welcome to EB! Quote
Front Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Great to see someone getting serious with Lego City. It's not my most favorite theme, but it ranks high. I'm more into all themes more or less, haven't really setled for anything particular yet. I like your pictures, and I see that you like me enjoy photographing Lego. Your pictures have good white balance (colours), and many have a nice subject isolation (small depth of field), which I really like. Do you use a 70-300 lens on your Canon camera? (I studied the exif data in your pictures ) One thing you could enhance in the future, is to make sure that the pictures are level, and not tilting to one side, as a few above does. Hope you enjoy it here on EB, and I look foreward to more stuff from you. Quote
ACCURATEin Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 Hello and welcome there! it seems that's you're coming back from your dark age seriously ! buying so many set so rapidly ! haha That is a good observation! I am indeed returning on a serious note. Perhaps I went a little too overboard in such a short time. Thank you for the welcome! nice collection and welcome back to lego Thank you! It feels good to be back. All three of the CC sets; I see you're quite serious about this! Welcome to EB! haha yes all three! I'm thinking about building a MOC to go along with the three. And thank you! Great to see someone getting serious with Lego City. It's not my most favorite theme, but it ranks high. Hope you enjoy it here on EB, and I look foreward to more stuff from you. The city theme is probably my favorite, and in second is the star wars collection. I think what sparked my renewed interest is the discovery of the walking AT-AT. Back in 1993, my friend and I built an AT-AT and took pictures of it in the snow and sent it in as an entry for the lego club pamphlet. When I saw the AT-AT set on the lego website I knew I had to have it. As for photographing the lego sets, it's soo fun because there are so many angles that can be made because of the size of the content. I used the Canon zoom 75-300 for this batch of photos, so you guessed well! Thank you for the heads up on the tilt, I will spend more time in the next batch! Thanks for the welcome! I'm sure i'll enjoy EB. I can't wait to design some structures and share with you guys. Quote
Basiliscus Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Nice to see someone else end the terror of their dark-ages! Welcome out of the closet... I only exited my dark ages last year so I know how it feels. However, you've made a big splash with your introduction! Not sure if it is intentional but I love the depth-of-field in your photos - it's a difficult thing to get right. Looking forward to seeing more from you - can't wait for the MOCs! Quote

MetroiD Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Seeing a LEGO city "under construction" is quite a rare sight. Thanks for sharing that with us mate, those are some wonderful arrangements and very smart modifications you've done to the buildings there! I'm thinking of doing exactly the same with our town (once we start setting it up), rebuilding the original sets I like and then modifying them accordingly. Looking forward to the next batch of developments! Quote
ACCURATEin Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 Wow! Some nice street scenes there! Very elaborate LEGO City! Thank you! I plan to extend the city limits even further by extending the platform. Seeing a LEGO city "under construction" is quite a rare sight. I'm thinking of doing exactly the same with our town (once we start setting it up), rebuilding the original sets I like and then modifying them accordingly.Looking forward to the next batch of developments! I figured it would be neat to show the progression of the city as it develops. Thank you for your comments! The plan is to have the firestation, police department, and trauma center all on one block. So in time, the police station will be relocated next to the firestation. I also have the old hospital from the early 1990s that will be modified as well. I look forward to seeing your town once you start to set it up! More photos from Lego City!! The lightrail will be extended on a separate route to the airport... Current overview... Chaos! Stay tuned for more from Lego City!! Quote
