Norro Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 A seasonal* poll to select the best Wolf Pack set... all pics are links, thanks Peeron and Lugnet! *To my knowledge they must have the most ghosts per sub-theme (2 in 3 sets). 1) Wolfpack Tower; with a marginal lead in the Lugnet ratings (84) 2) Wolfpack Renegades; a classic with a Lugnet rating of 82 3)Ghost with Wolfman; Shouldn't that be 'pack'?! With a spelling error like that no wonder this set only got a 68 from Lugnet So which is the best? And more importantly, why?! And even more importantly, Why is everyone who votes for a different one wrong?!!! God Bless, Nathan Quote
Sting Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I like Wolfpack Renegades most because first of all it comes with 2 Wolfpack Troops, and second of all, the main idea of the Wolfpacks were as a bunch of raiding bandits... the point of Raiding bandits having a large river/bridge fort is kind of wierd(they should have more of a tavern/hideout instead of an all out fort. Although I still like the tower, i think the Renegade Wagon, which has a cool design(with a little treasurehold/hiding place if I recall) is a little more Wolfpack... And the ghost one is just silly... how many soldiers in the Castle World encounter ghosts! According to lego almost everyone did! Quote
Norro Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 There are more votes than reasons... come on- own up! God Bless, Nathan Quote
jonfett Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I eventually voted for Renegades, but was torn between that and the tower. I own both of the sets (2 copies of renegades) so it wasn't easy to decide. The tower is neat, it has 3 figs and lots of cool features like the restractable bridge and ladders, and the hiding place inside the BURP. The cart is really cool, and I enjoyed playing with it. The hooks and places for the weapons are a great touch and it is a fantastic little set. I think that the weapons make up for the lack of a 3rd figure. All in all, both sets are great and they look good together, bus as I can only vote for 1 I went for the Wolfpack Renegades. Jon. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted November 3, 2005 Governor Posted November 3, 2005 I know nothing of these sets so how do I make a fair assessment? Quote
Norro Posted November 3, 2005 Author Posted November 3, 2005 I know nothing of these sets so how do I make a fair assessment? You have to realize that the WPs are the pirates of the Castle theme. Lego even used the same faces to emphasize this fact. I actually see a cross over to your descendants thread... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 4, 2005 Governor Posted November 4, 2005 Yes, I've seen pictures of these lads in the catalogues, but were individuals ever named, or stories and profiles written about them? Quote
Norro Posted November 4, 2005 Author Posted November 4, 2005 Yes, I've seen pictures of these lads in the catalogues, but were individuals ever named, or stories and profiles written about them? This is the longest official explanation I've come across (Thanks Peeron) but the cart with smuggling hatch and hideout more or less speak for themselves. Also the fact that they are always included in a similar way to pirates (either 1 in a jail or a set based around a hideout...) eg. see this pic. God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 4, 2005 Governor Posted November 4, 2005 I voted for 6075 Wolfpack Tower - just look how many useful pieces there for making a pirate hideout! Quote
Norro Posted November 4, 2005 Author Posted November 4, 2005 I voted for 6075 Wolfpack Tower - just look how many useful pieces there for making a pirate hideout! a lot! That fate befell mine twice. (when I was younger of course...) God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 5, 2005 Governor Posted November 5, 2005 I remember years ago looking at this set in a catalog and wishing I was a gazillionaire so I could buy it and every other SYSTEM set. I never got my wish so I remained within the pirate theme 99% of the time. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted November 5, 2005 Governor Posted November 5, 2005 I will admit to finding these rogues fascinating when they were first released and probably would have bought them could I afford it. But I couldn't! Quote
Norro Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 I will admit to finding these rogues fascinating when they were first released and probably would have bought them could I afford it. But I couldn't! I always thought of the WPs being your type of Lego. Pity you couldn't afford them, that could have been lego life altering. Similarly to me wanting a BSB but not being able to afford it and walking out with a Black Monarch's Ghost... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 6, 2005 Governor Posted November 6, 2005 The Wolf Pack sub-theme never went anywhere, did it? These were the only three sets ever released, were they not? Quote
Norro Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 The Wolf Pack sub-theme never went anywhere, did it? These were the only three sets ever released, were they not? True, but they appeared in at least 3 other sets spanning almost 5 years... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 6, 2005 Governor Posted November 6, 2005 And what were these 3 other sets? I expect this is not including the mini-figure pack... Quote
Norro Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 And what were these 3 other sets? I expect this is not including the mini-figure pack... The minifig pack, the Black Knight Castle that changed name, and the fright knights castle... possibly one more somewhere... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 6, 2005 Governor Posted November 6, 2005 Mr Norro you didn't include set numbers! I looked at two different Fright Knight sets and saw no Wolfpack and I can't even find what you're calling Black Knight Castle. Always include set numbers! If you don't know them, then punish yourself until you find them! Quote
Norro Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 Mr Norro you didn't include set numbers! I looked at two different Fright Knight sets and saw no Wolfpack and I can't even find what you're calling Black Knight Castle. Always include set numbers! If you don't know them, then punish yourself until you find them! Black Knight's Castle is considered by many, including me, to be the greatest castle ever made by Lego... The fright knight castles aren't wothy of lego set #s though I mistook a forsetmen with hood for a wolf pack (I don't have most of the fright knight sets...) God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 7, 2005 Governor Posted November 7, 2005 Errrr... Where's the Wolf Pack mini-figure in the Black Knight's Castle??? Quote
Norro Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 Errrr... Where's the Wolf Pack mini-figure in the Black Knight's Castle??? in the instructions here. These were the good old days when sets came with more than you thought. I believe on the box he is pictured crawling up a tower or sneaking around somewhere... God Bless, Nathan Quote
