The quality of the show has declined since Martha left. Almost all original characters have left or died. Mr Kent, for example, is supposed to live right through to when Clark becomes Superman. :hmpf_bad: The actor who played him really suited the character, and it sucks that he left. :sadnew:

Is there any way that Clark will be able to destroy Doomsday? Perhaps banish him to the Phantom Zone?

Probably something like that. Although it's never stated (as far as I know) that Superman was never able to defeat/destroy Doomsday, just that he was killed first

And I don't really know where you got the fact that Jonathan Kent only died right before Clark turns Superman, but according to the movies, Jonathan gets a heart-attack. Shortly after that Clark finds some crystal or something, and sets of to the North Pole, where he creates the Fortress of Solitude, and begins his training to become Superman, which takes quite a few years I believe.

But perhaps you have your info from the comics

Btw, what did you guys think of that last episode, Turbulence ? :sweet: (I know in the U.S. Hex has been aired as well, but I haven't got around to see that yet, so that's why I refer to Turbulence as the 'last episode' )

Season Premiére ? You mean the season finale, right ?:wink:

I still need to see it... and I haven't been able to watch Injustice as well...

But from I heard, Doomsday was/is going to be an excellent episode.

Can't wait to find out who are the people that are going to die...

Man, what a big disappointment!

I mean, there were some nice things in the episode, but the whole build up we've had for the second half of the season just went flop like a wet firecracker...

I mean, it's DOOMSDAY! the guy's supposed to have killed Superman. Here we just have a big nothing. One punch that sends clark flying through a few buildings and then pffft... We don't even exactly know what's happened... one time he's underground with lots of boom and whatnot and the other, he's just fine and casual like nothing's happened... What was that about doomsday being his big challenge and destiny and risking his very life??! And I won't start on that cheap rubber suit coming straight from one of those Power Rangers show...

Another thing that's got me confused is the timeline of that episode... I mean, the way I saw it, it looks like they buried Jimmy the very next day he died... I mean they did have time to organise a full burial and all but not just wash the blood stain on the floor of the apartment?

I did like the little twist with Jimmy Olsen not being THE Jimmy Olsen, though. it was a trick a bit cheap and cliché but I really didn't see it coming and found it quite nice...

Still, next season seems promising, in light of what's been teased at the end of this one...

But I really do hope that next season will be the last. Seeing how every major villain has come and gone so far, it looks like Clark won't ever need to become Superman anymore, since he won't have anyone left to save the earth from :hmpf:

I agree on hoping S9 will be the last...

Like you said, what more could they possibly use for the show...

I do still hope to see him fly though, just once :sweet:

And thanks for covering the spoilers, I'm very tempted to read them anyway, I won't.....

.... yet

Wow man, that was aweseme, very nice job ! :cry_happy:

Well, I've finally seen the episode.

And I kinda agree with Yellost :sceptic:

The fight with Doomsday was over way too soon. Clark hardly had any scratch, and Doomday just died after the explosion in the mine or whatever... really dissapointing actually :sadnew:

Other than that, I REALLY think they shouldn't be killing people that exist in the original mythology (meaning mostly comics) as well. Though in this case they hinted the 'old' Jimmy Olson not being the ACTUAL Jimmy Olson... I didn't like it with Lex either. The idiots :hmpf_bad:

Anyhoo, I did like the fact that Clark is finally moving on with his destiny and can't wait to see what happens next. Including, of course, the fact that Zod is back, in his own (well sorta :sceptic: ) body...

I wonder what happened to Lois though...

Well that's my rant for now

Oh and "Jammiedodger714, my cousin (Smallville fanatic as well, not so much with the LEGO  ) likes your teaser as well

Here is a teaser I made in an hour for the series finale.

nice work.

Seeing that teaser reminded me of a few more questions...

I think Lois went back or forward in time, seeing as she activated the ring. What I didi miss, though is where that ring came from? Was it Tess' ? If so, how did she come by it? Do you think she might actually be some rogue member of the Legion who went back in time to make Clark become Superman no matter what the cost?

Posted

Euhm no...

Clark got that ring from Rokk (I think, one of those Legion fellows anyway)) who came back again, at the very beginning of the episode.

He warned Clark of the consequences of saving Chloe, thus her connection with Doomsday, which resulted in Clark being gone in the Legion's future. Rokk gave another ring to Clark, telling him to send Doomsday to the future, where the Legion would have the means necessary to destroy him.

I think Clark kept that ring in one of his drawers in his desk. And when Tess and Lois started to fight, the desk fell over, opening the drawer and letting the ring fall out. Seems the most logical explanation to me  But there might be a better one

It does, doesn't it ? :cry_happy:

I can't wait to see it, though it probably won't be tomorrow already... at least not legally :hmpf_bad:

I'm very anxious to find out what Lois has seen in the future that she warped to with the Legion Ring.

And I'm very much wondering what Zod would be like. I read he will be at bit mild compared to the movie version and/or the comics-version (don't read the comics so I wouldn't be able to compare).

Not really sure about the 'Oliver-in-a-downward-spiral'-thingy, he's already a little cranky sometimes, always whining about Clark only standing up for his own neigbourhood 'nd all :sceptic:

Well, I'd better watch Season 8 again first, as soon as that's out on DVD

Thanks for the link to the trailer, I'd seen it quite some times already, but that absolutely doesn't matter
