I recently bought a bag of lego, and I got some strange pieces. Here are some pics:

Everything is fine, they have their LEGO logo etc, but I can´t see the use of the weird hook part of it. :look:

Have anyone of you ever seen these pieces, or know what set/s they are in?

I also found an old LEGO dog keychain. The hole in the brick looks proffessional, so I think it´s an original keychain from TLC, way back in time.

Does anyone know what year this is from, and how much it´s worth on BL? (I searched on both BL and Peeron, but couldn´t find either this or the other two pieces.)

Thanks!

I've never seen that dog key-chain, but that red part is one of the old train couplings used in the very early train systems, before they used magnets. There is also a similar piece that is used for the hook to hook into on the other carriage. :classic:

That keychain is especially interesting since it seems to have plates in the obscure Maersk blue color. As far as I know, that color was exclusive to the Maersk sets and didn't appear in a mass market set at all until the Maersk ship was released in 2005. Are the pieces on it glued?

No, sorry, it´s old gray. The flash makes the colour look weird, I used it because I wanted the somewhat odd piece choice to be shown (1 1x2 and 1 1x1 plate instead of 1 1x3 one). Yes, it´s glued, and as you can see on the 2nd pic, the pieces are the old ones.

Here's your dog http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?G=KC109 ,it's from 1963.

But there's not a lot of other info on it, except this: "This dog appears as a decoration in a pamphlet for 1963 accessories sets. It has been used for decorative purposes, and the key chain version most likely was a giveaway for retailers. It appears never to have been sold." (quote from BL). Yours seems to be in much better condition than the one in the pic on BL.

You find it on Bricklink via Plate, Modified 3 x 2 with Hole (Train Coupler Closed) with Hook

The part was used in these sets

I did a very quick look for the "Key Chain" on Bricklink but could not find it.

Thank you very much! :sweet:

Yea, my dog is in pretty good shape, especially for being that old! (I only paid 2 SEK for it, around 0.25 USD. ) I maybe should sell it on BL.. The problem is just that I have no idea of what I should sell it for. :look: Does anyone know how much it is worth?

Thanks!

Check other keyrings from that period, and raise the price a little. You may be able to sell the first one on Bricklink ever, but that doesn't mean it's worth $100s.
