Dreamweb Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I have a question about this ship's hull - is there any way to connect the hull sections in other way than this shown in the instructions? I mean, when you want to make the hull longer using some custom centre sections. Connecting the top parts is easy - they have studs, but does the bottom of the hull pieces have any holes for studs or anything? Does anyone have a picture of the bottom side of the hull? Quote
SuvieD Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 The hull sections are connected with tabs like train tracks. the tabs are on the top plate and the plastic piece on the bottom is held on by friction only. It has no stud connections at all. l l ] l l l l [ l l Something like this. Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 I know, but are there any studholes on the bottom of the boat anyway? Quote
Norro Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I seem to recall a very detailed post about this in Lugnet .pirates accompanied by an amzing MOC using the 4+ hull ('amazing' given the limitations...) Hope that helps make up for my personal lack of knowledge on the subject ;) God Bless, Nathan Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 11, 2005 Author Posted October 11, 2005 If you mean this, I've seen this before and this doesn't answer my question, but thanks for your help. Quote
Norro Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 If you mean this, I've seen this before and this doesn't answer my question, but thanks for your help. I am fairlly sure Richie did an earlier review of the set with connection details... God Bless, Nathan Quote
SuvieD Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 . . . the bottom is held on by friction only. It has no stud connections at all. I did say though ;) Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 11, 2005 Author Posted October 11, 2005 I did say though OK, I just wasn't sure no connections = no studholes at all. There could always be studholes that aren't connected (for example to fix the ship to a baseplate - like in the small boats of the classic Pirate line - or whatever). I am fairlly sure Richie did an earlier review of the set with connection details... It's here and it doesn't answer my question either :) Quote

Dreamweb Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 Thanks anyway. The reason I asked that question was because I was thinking of buying the 4+ ship and making a minifig scaled ship using its hull - just like in the case of the Dodelijk Klompschoen. BTW have you seen this ship? It uses the 4+ ship's hull with four centre sections! I finally chose Red Beard Runner instead, but the question remains open... :) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 14, 2005 Governor Posted October 14, 2005 I have a question about this ship's hull - is there any way to connect the hull sections in other way than this shown in the instructions? I mean, when you want to make the hull longer using some custom centre sections. Apparently there is an official middle section... There's a post about it in one of these threads here... Can't remember which one though... Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 This set contains one middle section and I was thinking of ways to male the ship longer without buying more 7075s to have more original sections, but to build an additional custom centre section and somehow integrate it into the hull. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2005 Governor Posted October 15, 2005 I haven't looked yet, but there's always BrickLink to save you buying multiple 7075... Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 They have lots of those hull sections there but as I wrote in another thread this wouldn't pay because of the shipping costs. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2005 Governor Posted October 18, 2005 Remind me where is you from and where is the nearest 4+ hull BrickLink supplier... Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 I'm from Poland. About the nearest supplier - I haven't checked lately. Actually I never ordered anything by bricklink and I'm not 100% sure if I know exactly how it works. :$ Quote

Shoot me a pm if you want advice on its use ;) (don't want to be too long in off topic subjects :D :P ) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 19, 2005 Governor Posted October 19, 2005 If its useful information that everyone could benefit then you could always create a new thread. Out of curiosity I'd like to know as well. Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 I think that would go to section other than "Castle & Pirates" so please post a link to that topic here if you make it... I don't frequently browse other sections ;) If you don't make it I'll probably PM you. And thanks for your help! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 20, 2005 Governor Posted October 20, 2005 Other sections? This forum has other sections? I must remember to check them out sometime. Quote
