Greetings from Kentucky!

After a decade (and then some) away from the bricks, seeing the new pirate sets on the shelves drew me back a few weeks ago. I tried in passing a few years ago to accumulate a few of the original pirate sets and did pick up the BSB when it was re-released (which currently resides on top of a file cabinet in my at work office), but never really got off the ground with it. Alas, most of my building materials are over 20 years old, so bear with me as I update. These new gray and brown colors are going to be an issue for awhile.

I suppose the pirate sets appeal due to my conviction to use the cuba libre for the purpose of scurvy prevention. This is the source of my avatar who has been a long time mascot for me. There is just something about a Lego monkey wielding a sword and chalice that is hard to resist. Using him to top a lime just seemed like the right thing to do for the cause.

You're from Kentucky and say "Guten Tag"? Just out of curiosity: Were you raised bilingually?

While not raised bilingually, I did have a good bit of German language around me (my town has a strongly German influenced history). I learned the language in school and eventually studied in Germany. For me there is a lot of humor to be had mixing the German language with some of our local phrases, such as 'Guten Tag Y'all'. Thus the user name too, just something to amuse.
