Admiral Giddens Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Come on over and check out my new ship the LL-M1 Doulos. Doulos on pre.classic-space.com Hope you enjoy it! Quote
xwingyoda Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Admiral Giddens, you are such an amazing space MOCer :oD This Doulos ship is more than impressive, its magnificent !!! The round front looks so neat with all the detailing, and your engines are fantastic like always. I love the greeblies grey part linking the two major white parts of the ship !! Truly one of your best creations !!!! I am always so impressed on your designs, construction techniques ... I wish TLC would create sets like those ;) I'll move this thread in the space forum ;) Quote
snefroe Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 brilliant! where did you get these large white parts from? the domes are from bionicle boxes, right? it would be nice if you could add landing gear, so you wouldn't have to use trans-clear parts to place it somewhere. i would also add red navigation lights or so to make your ship visible as a medical, "neutral" ship... i would also add a ladder on your pilot's seat (if the guy is the pilot), cos i don't think he can get there without it :P Quote
ApophisV Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Damn, this one is one of the best things if seen since a loooong time!!! My favourite detail is the "oil" sign! Really funny! :-D Picking other great details is really difficult, because I really don't know where to start! The engines are just beautiful, they make the whole thing looking like it would actually fly! (Hehe, should I give you my GPS coordinates so that this thing could visit the shelf in my living room?? ;) ) Another great aspect are the greeblies... *wub* Fantastic! I've shown pictures of the middle section of the ship to my girlfriend and told her "I wish I had build this!" and she answered "Oh, you don't have the needed parts?" and I said "No, I have, but the secret of achieving this look is not the choosen parts but HOW to use them!" And this is what you made: You used common parts and pasted them together to look perfectly technically! Superb! Now, I don't want to write too much now (have to go on building my own new MOC :P) but I just want to mention that also the hull (are these big slopes and round parts at the front from any sports arenas or whatever?) and the interior is awesome! Oh, and that sweet little ship that comes with the big momma is great too!!! Please keep those nice things coming!!! :) Quote
languages Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 MEGABLOCKIG AWSOME :-D :-D How do you come up with these things? Quote

Also, I love all your work Admiral Giddens I was looking at your site, your MOC's rule! Quote
optimus-convoy Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Wow, this is simply amazing! What a great use of those snowboarding ramps, and so much detail. This is such a great MOC! Quote
SuvieD Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Spiffy ship. It is out of this world! Best space ship under the sun I have seen recently I would say. I like the curvy shape the ramps give. I also like that it is a medical ship instead of a fighter or war ship. Very pretty to look at. Can it swoosh? Is it stable? MOC on dude! Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 *jaw drops off face* Wow! That's amazing. I'm speechless... Quote
Dino_Bot Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 WOW! can you actually fit minfigs inside? OH MY GOD YOU CAN! WOW! That is the coolest ship I have ever seen. I am not kidding...It's the best. Wow... Where'd you get those pieces?! ANd they're working for the Empire! There's the Imperial Symbol! Quote
Norro Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Absolutely amazing! (So good I had to comment here as well...) I like all the details...every last one ;) ! One of these days when I verge over to insanity, and crack, and build space.... It'll be your fault! :-D God Bless, Nathan Quote
Dino_Bot Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I just got over seeing your entire site...WOW WOW! I wish I were that good designing ships! thing is...I would need the pieces first...lol. Quote

LegoBMW Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Awesome Ship, Awesome Website, keep building ;) , LegoBmw Quote
Starwars4J Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Fantastic, I'm actually working in an ER at the moment, and now I'm quite tempted to build a medical vessel of my own ;) The color scheme you chose is absolutely perfect, and I like the pre-existing symbols that you managed to incorporate it. I admit this is due to my ignorance, but those large inverted domes at the front, where are they from? (Note: I don't mean the top of the bionicle containers). Also love the little ambulette design. For some reason, one of my favorite features of the whole thing was...the sink |-D Anyway, absolutely fantastic, not like I'm new to seeing your amazing work though. As soon as I finish my castle lookout moc, I'm definitely gonna have to give this sort of thing an attempt, as I have plenty of space military vessles, but no medical facilities! Quote

I didn't mean the universal medical sign...im not that stupid, besides, no one asked you. :| Quote
Admiral Giddens Posted October 16, 2005 Author Posted October 16, 2005 Thanks for checking this MOC out! Glad you guys enjoyed it! Those white bits up front are infact snowboard ramps. They are sitting sideways studs in, so each side has studs facing each other. A rather odd arangement to get sturdy... but it worked. As to it's "whooshability" and stability, it's rather sturdy. You can't pick it up like a baseball bat, but if you pick it up on the greeblie center and balance it with the other hand it doesn't sqeek or sqawk at all. It's got an interwoven technic beam structure under most of that. Anyway, thanks for lookin in. Keep buildin' em space! (and visit www.classic-space.com on occasion!) Quote
chewie Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 i have one thing to say. WOW!!! THAT IS SO AMAZING!..well actually two thing to say ;) I absoloutly love this ship, its simply amazing. Great job. Quote
Beagle Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 All the attention to detail is amazing, but I think my favorite one is the microscope! So simple and effective. Quote
Lost Viking Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 All the attention to detail is amazing, but I think my favorite one is the microscope! So simple and effective. Ya I love how it can fit inside the ship too! Quote

Dr_Legoman Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Wow! Where can I sign in for lessons? This creation is truly out of this world construction. The skill of some people know no bounds. Each time when I think "well that's it,every possibility with lego bricks are up,no more combinations and variations" someone surprises me. This is one of the best lego creations I have ever seen, if not the best. Beside the fact that I'm SF fan,the level of details and the magnitude of whole thing is incredible. When I first saw it I thought it's a official lego model or something from lego shows somewhere. However this is, once more, a proof that the lego is the best toy ever (although we all knew that). Quote
Mr McGow Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Oh my gosh, this is just superb. I think you've captured the phillosphy behind this vessel really well - i.e it looks like it could take a bit of a pounding and whilst not bristling with weapons (reflecting it's medical rather than offensive role), anything that takes it on should expect at least a bloody nose. Great use of the contrast behind the white and grey. Also a super use of the various printed tiles as well. Well done! Quote
Blackicep8ntball Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Haha unbelievable... this sucker is the oldest bump I've ever seen - nearly a 5 year bump. Oh well, it is worth seeing again. Chris Giddens is/was quite a builder. For those who are curious and don't know about him, you can see more of his stuff at his Pre-Classic Space website. Check it out. Anyone know if he's still building and active in the Lego community? Quote
