I like that big plane and that fanatstic airport so much, this is what i have always been dreaming about :') also the small set with the airplane mechanic is good.

the new ferrari set with the small studio and garages is also ver good.

The hospital was a disapointment, but the ambulance is really good, as is the small medic car.

The new Exo-force theme is actually quite good. I like the concept, although that i never read nor see anything of manga

If that ther comes more viking, harry potter and star wars sets, then 2006 will be a fanatstic year

BTW how much do you think the sets will cost? (im mainly thinking about the city, ferrari and Exo-force sets)

The Legendary Norro arrives late from heroic building activities to give his thoughts:

City A bit dissapointed, OK, very dissapointed. The hospital... The airport looks awful...but has great pieces (those bay windows will be in an aquazone MOC shortly...), the rest, all right. Except the copter which doesn't even look as good as the rescue one...

Creator New xpods will be nice, and as usual creator is the year saver.

Football I liked the old ones, but have the old ones, so don't really need this. Though in a world cup year it makes sense.

Racers etc Not my area...

Exo Force see other topic.

There ya have it,

What the hell is up with the Ferrari 430 Spider? That's the most disgusting thing I ever saw and I can't believe Ferrari actually let LEGO mass-produce it. I feel like I'm going to puke. Honestly, most of the stuff are crap. The city stuff look ok but they look too Jack Stoneish (or whatever his name is). The airport is nice. It's cool because it looks modern but other than that, I think LEGO will do a lot worse in 2006 than in previous years. Maybe the trains will be alright.

Well, word on the grapevine is that there's some really cool stuff on the slate for 2006 (besides this, I mean). Don't lose faith yet... ;)

Inside tour anyone? ;)

None of those sets appeal to me so LEGO has my full approval to cancel their advertising campaign and never release any of them.  :^D

Lego also has my approval to return to old grey, drop all movie lines/bionicle, reinstate pirate, castle, western, and aquazone in their former glory; and carry on with the creator line... :-D

Those are real, but they are stolen pics. >:(

This attitude is spreading dangerously on lego fan sites. The pics (and the translated selling points) are meant to sell the items. We (mostly) look at them with an interest in buying the items. The match is perfect. Under the list of translated selling points you could include 'fans want these so badly they scoured the net for pictures of them', and the retailler would say 'I'll take them...'

All leaked pictures are in effect stolen. or at least posted without prior consent.

If someone doesn't like leaked pictures don't look. The rest of us will look on with anticipation for the final product.

Actually I am surprised it took this long to find leaked pictures. It is less than three months before these sets are in stores. That isn't very far away if you ask me.

I just meant that their inherent point is to advertise to us the consumers. And they will be provided free, (in fact it costs lego to print the mags)... so I'm not sure about the steatling.

How... Disappointing :'( !

Really, this is the best LEGO has to offer? After a great year, I honestly was hoping that they were getting back to basics. Apparently this isn't the case. These days, there isn't much to distinguish LEGO from its competitors. The rampant juniorization is absolutely killing me!

City: The hospital looks poor. The raised baseplate is totally misused here. That being said, its still better than the airport. The new planes are terrible!!! What is this, playmobile?!! The one-piece design just doesn't do it for me. Sure it looks nice, but it isn't LEGO. This is the second-most <insert that tiresome argument> set I HAVE EVER SEEN! The airport terminal is ok, but this is completely offset by another one of those planes. The sleeper set of the bunch is the rescue helecopter (7903) which looks fantastic. And its made out of bricks!

Exo Force: Another dud. This line is autrocious! From the stereotypical 'anime' styled minifigs, to the Life on Mars styled mechs, this line is horrible! Easily the worst LEGO line yet. Heck, this doesn't even look to be worth it for piece harvesting.

Football: This isn't LEGO! A bunch of minifigs with a pre-molded table football game? At least the previous version included a few bricks! This is THE MOST <insert that tiresome argument> set EVER! The Ferarri sets are still top-notch though. At least they are still made with bricks.

Creator: Still looks good. Nothing that exciting though. I'll probably pick up a few of these gems.

KKII year 3: This has me interested. Not in the maxi-figs mind you, but in the potential minifigs. These new knights with their more neutral colours may bode well for next year's minifigs. Hopefully, text year's knights will be wearing more traditional armour. The helmets are also a marked improvement on this year's designs. Sir Adic's helmet implies we may finally get a true great helm after all of these years.

Overall, I'm quite disappointed. It really seems that LEGO is abandoning building toys in favour of snap together models. This year looks to be the most <insert that tiresome argument> year yet.

Guess its time to focus on the aftermarket.

I actually really like the planes. The front, the wings and the tail are all big molds, and I can't tell if the top is one big piece or several smaller pieces, but the windows appear to be ordianry Lego window pieces. But even with the big molds, it LOOKS great, and in my opinion has enough studs to look like it fits into the Lego world.

Yes, the planes look good. What about the building potential? I mean, how are you going to build any new or exciting MOCs when everything becomes so specialized? In many ways, these sets are reminding me more and more of Playmobil. Still, if you don't have the pieces to build new and exciting MOCs, LEGO is no longer a building toy.

Don't get me wrong, I think the plane looks great. I'm just worried that LEGO is going to juniorize itself out of the building toy business. Now perhaps that's what children want. Personally, I yearn for a bit more. These sets really suggest that LEGO bricks are going the way of the Dodo.

Why does everybody think the planes are a one-piece design? They clearly use the windows used in planes and ships before and I don't think the hull is made of one piece. It sure is made of big pieces, yes, but so are the ship hulls and no one's complaining there.

Had they done it with bricks and plates only you'd have a piece-count of 2000+ and a price accordingly. Then everybody would complain...

Sure, overall TLG didn't really go back to basics but I think the sets look appealing to kids nowadays confronted with flashy video games and movies. So, I think they're doing a better job adapting the LEGO brick and design to "modern times" than in the past.

Yes, the City sets don't have those MOCing possibilities anymore as they did way back when, but I think that "task" has been moved to creator and designer sets. Which, I think, have plenty of MOCs in them. Just my $0.02.

And I still like the planes...

Greg has permission from Lego to post on BZP. He won't have permission to post on here. Anyways, I can tell you the sets come out in Spring '06.

Does anyone think that the figures in the racers in the Ferrari race set are Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello? It seems obvious to me that the are, as they look flesh toned in the pic to me, their names are written on the garage, and who else would be in the Formula 1s? If it is them, then this is the first time that Lego have given yellow and flesh toned minifigs in the same set.
