DoubleT Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Hi All I have one question for all you Geeks (not greeks ;)) out there... Why is the "B-Wing" cald an "B-Wing"? It might be me, but I dont see any B in the shape of the great ship... Hope someone knows why.... Its looks more like an Cross, or an X to me... But the X Name is taken I seem to remember he he Quote
ApophisV Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I think this was just the logical name after having the X-, Y- and A-Wing before... Quote
DoubleT Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 He he Bad Logic for Mr. Spock ;) Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I think that if you look the ship on its side angle, it has a B shape ;) Quote
Starwars4J Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I think that if you look the ship on its side angle, it has a B shape ;) Correct. Looking at a profile view of the B-wing, it's easy to simply connect the top pod where the pilot sits, to the wings, and then again to the bottom to form a "B" shape. It's a real stretch...but it's there. Quote
MattZitron Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Blame Admiral Akbar. He invented it/ Quote
Cutty Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I always thought that the model builders worked on the ship-designs for ROTJ and christened them "Design A" and "Design B", which coincided with the smaller design actually having an "A" shape (to an extent, that is...). The second design just kept it's name without really resembling the letter "B" too much. Quote
