Darth_Legois Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Well since im planning on adding to my LEGO City Police Cars I need more Blue stickers from the set 7236 But once I pick up another one and scan it, How can I print more stickers? Is there like a special paper or something I can use to make stickers? I dont want to buy like 10 7236's since I really just need the stickers 'cos im converting all my old black stickered 7236's to blue & I got enough pieces to make some new ones from scratch... Or if theres a way I could just do it from the internet without buying another set would be good. Thanks. Quote
Skinny Boy Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Actually, I am interested in the answer to this aswell. I have considered buying stickers from BL, but if I can make them myself...hmmmmm. Quote
Patriot720 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 You could try bricklink, sometimes people sell sticker sheets there. I also think there is sticker paper that you could use, it is probably available at Staples or Office Depot. Quote

They want to print stickers from their printers not buy it online... And I dont think the post office sticker paper will last long... If you want it you can go to the above decal index and see how to pront decals, after all you dont plan to take the stickers out right? Quote
Alice Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I am surprised that there isn't a Tutorial on this subject. I did find this suggestion by LuxorV. You may also find some insight in this thread or this thread. Hopefully, that will be helpful. Quote

LuxorV Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Don't worry peolpe, I deleted your double post "If you print a decal on the glued-band, you'll get a pre-glued, re-usable decal" -LuxorV ....So where can I get a glue band? And how easy is it to take it off after applied? Please read the full text (or maybe I wasn't clear enough): I meant the glued band of the Post-it - the upper band that allowes you to stick it onto surfacies. And it's as easy to take off as the original Post-it, of course Hope to have cleared things a bit LuxorV Quote
Skinny Boy Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Hmmm. I really want to print my first decals, and yet, I'm still confused. How big are your post-its LuxorV? I can't see my ones being large enough to cover a figs torso. Also, could someone tell me where decal paper can be bought? Would most office supply stores have them, or are they a specialty item? And finally, sort of off topic, how are decal designs resized to fit the torsos? Is it using MS paint, and if so, what exactly is done? I know of the image resizer, but I hate working with percentages Thanks for any help. Quote

For me the following process works very well: - Download the decals you need - Copy them inside powerpoint and resize the image to the needed size (1,2x1,4 cm) - Print them on photo paper - Cover the front with a sheet of tixo - Cut it - Glue it on the body - Colour the white sides of the decal in black or torso colour You can find some pdf examples with the correct size at: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=289981 And that's a picture how that process may result in: Andreas Quote

I use the biggest Post-its I have at home (say 10x6 cm), and maybe they're a special edition or something, now that you make me think of it... Anyway, the glued band has to be about 15 millimeters height to cover a MF torso. You can find info on how to print decals in the right size here. If you follow this indications, you should have no problem in printing them right. The most important thing is you do not 'copy and paste' the decals, since often they have a high resolution (mine are 600 dpi), and they would appear and be printed way too big. LuxorV Quote
