Klaus-Dieter Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) Hello everybody! I wanted to show you my last LDD MOC already some time ago - but had no time to do so. Now I've got a bit time. So here it is: City Center part 1 You're on a trip through your Lego City. It's noontime and you're hungry. So go to the snackbar and have a snack and a drink. After that you can relax in the little park. And what do you plan to do after that? It's your turn. The first part of the City Center includes a snack bar with two tables, a little park with fountain, a cook, a woman, a man, a dog and a lot of accessory. Comments are welcome! Still Raindrop Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Nice--it's got a very classic town feel to it! Quote
Darth_Legois Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Ohh Nice I especially like the little snackbar! And I like how you made the fence but maybe if you put a some plates over the fence pieces? But thats just what I would do... Quote
Monki Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Looks great! some really nice little details Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 30, 2008 Author Posted November 30, 2008 Thank you very much for your nice comments, Mariko, Darth_Legois and Monki! Nice--it's got a very classic town feel to it! Thanks, Mariko! I like very much the old classic Town sets such as Main Street etc. - and the new 10184 Town Plan is simply . So I wanted to design something in classic style, too. Ohh Nice I especially like the little snackbar! And I like how you made the fence but maybe if you put a some plates over the fence pieces? But thats just what I would do... Thanks, Darth_Legois! Food related sets were always my favorite sets. And I even like(d) very much to design own snackbars, restaurants, etc. Perhpas that's because I really like eating good food, too. To the fence: I personally don't like it to have an upper plate for the fence since this fence is a fence around a park. And when you add an upper plate to the fence it looks imo a bit like prison or at least a very guarded house. Looks great! some really nice little details Thanks, Monki! I don't like sets where you only have got buildings but (nearly) no interior - that's really bad. So I really like to add a lot of nice detials to my MOCs in order to make them more lovely and realistic. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Section8 Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Another reason you should be a set designer for Lego, K-D. I'm glad to see you still designing sets in the old System scale. After CC was released, I've noticed a shift towards that style for MOCs. Any plans to build it? I'd love to see it next to your MOC Main Street and Side Street. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 Thank you very much for your nice comment, Section8! Thank you very much for the compliment. But there are surely other people who (would) desgin sets more perfectly than I do. I momentarily don't plan to build it (I need to save money for next year's awesome City, Castle Exclusives and Star Wars sets). But I built and will build some other (of course not that official style similar) city buildings which I'll show you from time to time. Klaus-Dieter Quote
welcomestranger Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I love the impromptu LDD chefs hat! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I've been meaning to comment on this creation for some time now, but never got around to it. Sorry KD. You have really improved on your ability to design these LDDs KD. Compared to some of your earlier Wild West creations, these look even better! I like this one in that the snack bar reminds me of something out of a very early (70s/80s) classic town design. The little extra details like the soda machine and exterior hooks to hang the broom and light look great. I also like the black and white gate/wall combination. Nice use of the black antenna pieces. The addition of the tables and lamp post top off your nice creation. Having seen a number of your LDD creations, I'd like to see some of these brick-built. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted December 14, 2008 Author Posted December 14, 2008 Thank you very much for your nice comments, welcomestranger and TheBrickster! I love the impromptu LDD chefs hat! Thanks, welcomestranger! I tried the best possible possibility to desgin it as realistic as possible. I've been meaning to comment on this creation for some time now, but never got around to it. Yes, it was simply my aim to design some city buildings in the "classic" style since the new buildings which TLG offered in the last 10 years were not that interesting and charming like the ones from the 70s and 80s. Plus I really like nature, foliage and calmness - so a park to relax is something which should really exist not only in every real city but even in every Lego City. And for me the minifigs and details are the heart of every set - so I tried to account for them in my model(s), too. Having seen a number of your LDD creations, I'd like to see some of these brick-built. Everybody can order them via Lego Factory (I think). The simply reason for why I don't buy LDD MOCs is because I want a lot of official City and SW OT sets (you can see in my signature) and so I have to spend my money on theses official sets. But around Christmas I'll show you a big (non-LDD) City MOC (but with no official character like the most of my LDD MOCs) which you surely will like (or at least I hope so ). Klaus-Dieter Quote
