BlueBard Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 This morning I saw the 4939 "Cool Cars" set in a store and I fell in love with that little one... I was tempted to take it but I was going really late to work and I decided to lend it for another occasion. Anyway, thinking at it I was wondering if it would be more or less a right size for MFs or it would be too big (I fear... ). I tried to search a review in EB and BS but I found nothing with MFs so, please if somebody has it could you take a photo with a MF with the yellow car and another with the guy in the car? (if it fits... ) Thank you very much! Quote
meschepers Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I bought this for a friend awhile back. As the instructions make it you cannot fit a fig into the sets. With some modding it would be possible but there just isn't enough space inside for a fig as the roof isn't tall enough. Quote
The Cobra Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Maybe you'll like this topic (minifig-sized cool convertible). Quote
mania3 Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 The non-compatibility with minifgs is what keeps me away from certain product lines. Though I think the sets are pretty neat, my heart is and always will be with things built to minifig scale. Quote
BlueBard Posted November 22, 2008 Author Posted November 22, 2008 Thanks for the information, people! It's really a pity that models are not MF size Maybe you'll like this topic (minifig-sized cool convertible). Anyway, I'll try to modify it like Lasse D did in that topic with the white one, but, as meschepers says, I think I'll have a big problem to modify the roof... Quote
Lasse D Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Just to clear any confusion. This is the good old Cool Cars: It will be a challenge to make it Minifig-sized, mainly because of the height with the gullwing doors, but I'm sure you can find a solution. It will be harder to make it steer like the photo suggests. There was a thread where a member made the Racers set with all the trucks into minifig size, and they still looked great. Quote
The Cobra Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Oops, my bad. Have you tried removing the seats and put a slope instead? Something like the 6835. But I fear you'll have to get rid of the steering wheel. Quote

BlueBard Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 I found this on BS, so it seems somebody have tried it yet (I think it was inevitable... ) Thinking about that set I asked myself a question: after buying it I will want to adapt it to my MFs so what should I do? Build a smaller car or make an adaptation from the original 4939 set? Some of you will say that's too big for a MF but remember the Agents' car What do you think? Thanks for your advice! Quote
Lego Parrot Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I made it minifig size, so it's possible. However, I destroyed the car for a MOC awhile back. Quote
prateek Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 (edited) its too wide and too low and the figs cant fit their arms in but there are mods available on brickshelf EDIT: 600th POST!!! Edited December 1, 2008 by prateek Quote
