Badsneaker Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I was at TRU browsing the LEGO aisle and saw they had the new 7631 Dump Truck. I picked it up on impulse, $22.99, kind of pricey for 189 pieces. I can post a few pics if you want. I'd to do a review on it but it may take a few days as I'm not graduated from the Reviewers Academy yet. They also had the SUV with horse trailer and 3 or 4 sets of the Pirates line. They also had 3 sets of very cool Gift boxes with about 150 standard pieces each along with a Minifig. Item numbers 6191 6192 and 6193. These were only $9.99 each. I don't normally buy from TRU as their prices are a little higher than everyone else, but I love getting my hands on a new set not even available at SAH yet. Quote

bullet8542 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I picked up both the dump truck and the 4wd yesterday as well I was surprised to see the City stuff but even more surprised to see the three pirate sets as well. I really hope some of the other construction set come out before next year. Quote

AFOL SF Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Here are some information I'd like to share with you all regarding the new City and Pirate sets... Sunday (Nov 16th), went to the Lego store and was informed that the new sets are going to trickle in a few sets at a time/each delivery. Wednesday (Nov 19th), called the same Lego store and was told by a different employee that they received 'some' of the City and Pirate sets and will be filling in shelves that evening. Thursday (Nov 20th), expecting the new sets out, drove to the Lego store only to find Set 7631 - Dump Truck out. Asked a couple of employees and was told the new sets has been delivered but they have specific instructions these are not to be sold until Dec 2nd! I thank both employees and headed home. Of course I bought the Dump Truck. If I could avoid buying at TRU, I do it... I have been dissatisfied with the store's high price ($2-5 per set is a lot of money if you buy all them new sets), so I wait and be patient. I suggest to those who're close to a Lego store, is to make a visit next week... some employees may 'accidentally' bring out these new sets. Quote
Joebot Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I was at the Lego Store in Schaumburg, IL (Chicago suburb) last night and they had the dump truck and the big construction set (I didn't buy either one). No sign of any pirate sets though. Kind of a strange distribution of new sets going on. Seems very random. Quote
MAH4546 Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 (edited) I stopped by the LEGO Store in Los Angeles today - Glendale Galleria - and they had the new dump truck and construction site at $19.99 and $99.99, respectively. The construction site looks awesome! I almost picked it up, but bought the harbor set (7994) instead, since I didn't have that one and it has been discontinued.
