Denmark is Skandinavian becourse we are the same people, and there where "Viking" People here in Denmark...

Now stop trying to be so cleaver, when you are wrong :)

But Denmark wouldn't be grouped with Scandinavian countries unless it had seized power of them in the 13th-14th centuries.

I'm not trying to be clever... merely defending the facts.

I understand that Denmark is part of Scandinavia, TT, but it's more Germanic than Scandinavian, in my opinion...

I'd like to point out this Wikipedia article on Vikings, by the way. They make an interesting point that I believe I've mentioned before.

[snip]... a viking is a pirate, and not a name for the people or culture in general.

I think the Pirate have you right where he wants you ;) Batteling for words :$

Remember the end of Return of the Jedi when Luke and Vader are duelling and Palpatine is clapping his hands and laughing - well thats me right now!

It appears the debate has fizzled out, so its time for me to throw more fuel on the fire...

He he I can hear you guys aint Skandinavian lol

Vikings where much more the Fighters............ They where Farmers............. Traders........... Viking is an Culture not an name...

only 1/10 of the time was used for war... The rest of the time they where big time traders, and famers..

Holland/England and Denmark only have big farming now becourse of Vikings

Now here's where Phes comes in and attacks...

Like Vikings, some Buccaneers were also farmers, traders, and even noblemen. Not buccaneers pirate was a blood thirsty merciless killer. Some had families and owned estates with land.

The point is, at some point buccaneers and vikings commit or have committed acts of piracy which is why they both fit the definition of "pirate". There is no prerequisite for a pirate to be at sea continually pillaging and plundering to be considered a pirate.
