Cutty Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 But hey! The Romans did know mead also! I don't remember the Latin word for it right know, but I was hard drunk of it during a Roman festival in a neighbour city of mine... Anyway, thanks TT for the vocabulary! Still thinks Latin is better, Cutty Quote
DoubleT Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 My Own Creation = Min Egen Kreation :) So its a MEK, not a MOC ;) Quote
Khorne Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 MOC in Danish sounds more German to me than Danish :-D . How do you get the 'O' with this '\'?? *wacko* Quote
DoubleT Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 If you heard the sounds.. it sounds different ;) Quote
Athos Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 I know skal means cheers. It's a derivative of the word skull, because Vikings would often drink mead from skulls. :^^D Steve Quote

Cutty Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Yeah the languages are astonishingly similar in appearance...I would hardly understand it though both by hearing in reading it...same counts for Swedish by the way. Fest is a German word btw. means party/ festivity as in BrickFEST... The German word for sword is also familiar, both to Danish and English (the word is "Schwert" in german) Peace in Danish is also related to the German word "Frieden" = Fred And Fjed finds it's similarity in the word "Feind". Though the Dutch word for enemy (can't spell it...^^ Quote
languages Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Edited by Xwingyoda: please languages no more of this >-| Sk Quote
