Mythos Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) He linked me to this topic the instructions is in the middle of the thread and I also found this thread at classic castle. EDIT: I just realized the second link, the poster uses a burglar cap (is that what it is called?) as a round shield! excellent! interesting Barding design but could you do me a favor and warn me next time you link to the BrickWars site since I find that site rather disturbing, rude and very offensive at times and the site owner allows that if not encourages it. Hoboman Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Thanks a lot guys, and I noticed you have a different username hoboman? Well thanks to you to pointing out the instructions for the horse bardings. Yes, I changed it. Made it so I use the same name on all the Lego forums I go to. interesting Barding design but could you do me a favor and warn me next time you link to the BrickWars site since I find that site rather disturbing, rude and very offensive at times and the site owner allows that if not encourages it. That is my fault. I sent the link to him. Yes, that forum can be quite "R" rated and is not always the best fit for folks. But to go on and look at a specific photo in a particular thread like this should not have been too bad. Quote
ziljin Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 okay I fixed my link it says brickwars thread. I did not know about that. I only read that thread and looked at some of the other castle armies they posted. Quote
romdam Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 (edited) I just bought me a nice classic army off ebay for $200! All old school Black Falcons/Lions/Forestmen. Along with 21 horses and a TON of weapons. Didn't think asking a person with a live auction would just straight up sell but WOW, it did. Can't wait til they get here! TheLegoDr Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I finally was able to see the brick built barding. I think it really works. I plan on modifying it of course, but I may have to try that with some other factions. I just bought me a nice classic army off ebay for $200! All old school Black Falcons/Lions/Forestmen. Wardancer Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 My Kingdoms army is not in a good shape at the moment, but I thought maybe some of you might enjoy my idea of a Kingdoms Black Elite Guard. DSC08520 von MWardancer auf Flickr Their leader: DSC08519 von MWardancer auf Flickr Nothing fancy, but I like them. You will of course recognize the spartan parts and the kingdoms parts. The shields are Griffindor shields. Quote
romdam Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Wow, I was about to say "nice haul" too! Yea, about a year ago, I sold all my castle figs to concentrate on city sets. I made a good amount for less figs than what I just got but I regretted doing it. This was like an instant collection that put me in a better place with more than I had before. At that time, I sold all my castle sets but with buying bulk lots, I was able to rebuild everything again. All the good 80's stuff. Now I am concentrating on castle so it's time to build up the armies and go all out building the catapuls and such. Quote

I know I will want it all back in the future! And those gyrffindor shields look really good! Quote

Donut Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) Nice undead army there Beefbanana! I had some time off today so I decided to take a few pictures and organize my shelves. I apologize for the mediocre pictures as I am trying to save up for a camera upgrade . Edited August 4, 2011 by Donut Quote

ziljin Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 great undead army, and nice castle army (KKI armies? I can't tell). Why so many Lion Princesses though? I don't see a multitude of Lion Knight Heavy Cavalry, so I am not sure if just bought multiples of the Prison Tower Rescue. Quote
Hoboman Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Interesting mix of figures Donut. I love the wide range you have together. Beefbanana, I love the leader you made for your undead. Nice touch. And the undead wizard, cool. Quote

Nice army aswell Donut, how did you get seven green ninjas? Edited August 5, 2011 by Beefbanana Quote

I love the wide range you have together. Thanks guys, it's 16 years of collection. great undead army, and nice castle army (KKI armies? I can't tell). Why so many Lion Princesses though? I don't see a multitude of Lion Knight Heavy Cavalry, so I am not sure if just bought multiples of the Prison Tower Rescue. They are all key chains! I bought a dozen of them since they were only $1 at the LEGO store. I am still waiting to get the real set and unfortunately, I missed out on the opportunity at my local Target. Nice army aswell Donut, how did you get seven green ninjas? I only bought 2 green ninjas from TLC. When I was a kid, it never occurred to me to buy multiple sets. So I bought the rest on Ebay, back when the price were not as inflated as today. Quote

So I bought the rest on Ebay, back when the price were not as inflated as today. Exactly! As a kid I never would have thought to buy multiples of the same set. I had one, why would I need another one of the exact same thing. Fast forward 15 years and I'm thinking I missed out on a lot of great castle minifigs when they gave lots in each set! Quote

Sign me up for that club, too! LOL **edit** Updated pic of my Lions. Not the best arrangement but, it was just a 'quick photo op' type of thing. Still have to do my Dragons. I DID finally arrange all my Lions with 'proper' torsos (IMO). Example: crossbowmen have the red and white torso, spearmen have armoured, etc., etc. Also a shot of my new 'apple orchard'. ziljin Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) Nice army Ogre! I wish I had boughten more battlepacks! Oh well. And wish they made a cheap joust set like they did for castle 2007. my dragon knight heavy cavalry greatly outnumber my lion knight heavy cavalry. EDIT: I also try to have the checkerboard armor as "light" armor for crossbows and light infantry (put them on horse and you get light cavalry!). and then having the chainmail as "medium" armor for medium infantry. and knights with their platemail torsos count as heavy infantry. And the armor pieces count as super heavy infantry! Although it's should be similar to platemail (or worse since its only a breastplate?) but aesthetically it looks like "more" armor so I will count it as super heavy armor. ziljin Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Hm no new army posts? Not exactly an army, but most of my spearmen. 100 in total! Not shown in the pictures are my Ninja/NinjaGo Spearmen, Persian Spearmen, and Undead Spearmen. If you can't tell, I am a big fan of Rome Total War! Quote
