Commodore Marks Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 A huge ninja army. . . my pirates are getting very worried. In the first picture, what set is the female minifigure on the left from? There's Nya and Collectible Kimono Girl but. . . I want that one! Quote
hanzocloud Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Huge army! How'd you collect all those? Buy lots of the same pack/minifig. A huge ninja army. . . my pirates are getting very worried. The first girl is a custom minifig. so shes not from any sets Quote
MinionOfCthulhu Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I just started playing Total War: Shogun 2, so those pictures make me extra happy. They basically look like a small force from the game! There's nothing quite as awesome as a big group of minifigures... Quote
Siercon and Coral Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Awesome army! I like the mixture as the volume makes it look more like trained groups than a mish-mash. Do you have a flickr? Quote
Ogre Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Decided that my 'Kingdoms' sets needed a display space until I get around to doing a PROPER set-up for them... Not a super-large collection by any stretch but, it WILL be added to, as money allows, since I really like this theme. Due to the narrowness of the shelf, the castle is not fully connected. The wall/tower sections are merely placed behind the front wall for photographic/display purposes May not be able to tell very well (especially for the Dragons) but, the entire line is there, including the figures (but not accessories right now) from the Advent Calendar, as well as (the figs from) two 'Escape from Dragons Prison' sets, two complete 'Prison Carriage Rescue' sets, two 'Knight's Showdown' sets, two (one complete, one figs, buckets and chicken only) 'Blacksmith Attack' sets and four Battle Packs of each faction., Quote
Niku Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Very nice display Ogre. Also you have give me an idea for size comparison of the new sets and the ones on wave 1. You only need to add those sets of the polybags and the new set where the Dragon general comes, for your collection to be completed. You are right too about this line is really eye pleasant. Greetings. Quote

Greetings. Thanks for reminding me about those polybags! LOL Totally forgot about THAT 'lack'. Well, I'll have the 'Target Practice' polybag soon enough, thanks to the LEGO promotion for July (WOOHOO!). I'll have to Bricklink the other though, since I don't think it ever landed here in North America. By the 'Dragon General', are you referring to the mounted knight from the 'Escape from Dragon Prison'? Because if so, I have two of those, too (though, you can't see them well from that pic...one is in front of the Dragons Prison Tower and the other is on the lower shelf with the Battle Pack troops and an extra Prison Carriage Rescue horse & carriage. ziljin Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 (edited) Click on the links to see the rest of the pictures in my youtube videos. I got into Lego like ~2009 and got into army building this year. I just ordered 30 white horses and 24 more skeletons from PAB (getting that promotional Target Practice too!), 10 generic minifigures(for the armor pieces I have lying around), 30 helmets (for skeletons and knights), and 10 pirates(guess they have excess inventory) to be used as bandits/peasants. And I plan on getting more prison carriage rescues and escape from prison's dragons so expect some of my armies to grow, and lots of cavalry in later updates! Edited June 27, 2011 by lego40k Quote
Si-MOCs Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Ogre- Love the setup. Though have you considered building a mosaicy-background to mimic some mountains or something? That would make it even cooler. Lego40k- Nice armies! I’m really really starting to like those Dragon Knights. Quote

Most definitely! Haven't had a lot of time to do much more than build sets 'out of the box' right now but, yes, my plan is to make their home much nicer looking. Quote
Hoboman Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 @Ogre: Very nice way to set up the Lego and enjoy them. Although I am sure it will be easy to out grow that. @Lego40k: Some great armies there. I like the Undead 2.0 and the Persian armies the best. I happen to like the use of the 2x3 plates used as shields. The Skeleton Line looks real good that way. Just curious, how do you have them hold the shield? Quote

Just curious, how do you have them hold the shield? Turns out minifigure hands are roughly the same size as studs. So you just put it on like you were building something. Skeleton hands are too small unfortunately so you can only do it with standard minifigure hands. It's a nice way to make use of all the plates I have lying around. Plus you can just pretend they are poor quality shields thus no printing. Or you could even put some tiles on top to make large smooth shields without any faction symbols on it. Quote
hanzocloud Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Some of you may have seen my "Huge Ninja Army" thread on this forum. Here I bring you an army of Persian/Arabian/Indian soldiers. Not as big as my Ninja army, but just wanted to show it off as a teaser before i show my large "secret" army. Stay tuned, and enjoy Quote
ziljin Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Wow so many. It looks larger than your ninja army. Hm where are all your Hassassins and Dastans? Quote
hanzocloud Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Wow so many. It looks larger than your ninja army. Hm where are all your Hassassins and Dastans? i only have 1 of each of those you mentioned, and it's unassembled in my spare parts tray hehe Quote
ziljin Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 i only have 1 of each of those you mentioned, and it's unassembled in my spare parts tray hehe Ah I see. I just found it odd that you have so many of the persian "peasant" but no dastans or Hassassins. At first I thought those minfiigures in the back were your Dastans on horses. Quote
Hoboman Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I like this army. Creative use of the PoP figures. But I was expecting by the title to see Elephants (or at least one) and hoses and camels. Do you have plans to add them? Quote
ziljin Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 50 Lion Knights. Not nearly as much as I hoped. It is going to be a while before I update my Lion Knight Army. I hope to get at least 100 Lion Knights. Quote
Hoboman Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Nice little army there. I like the pikemen. If this were mine, I would focus on some horsemen next. I would also look to increase the ranged weapons, bows or Crossbows. But that is just my opinion. Quote

I would also look to increase the ranged weapons, bows or Crossbows. But that is just my opinion. I only have like 2 bows, but have lots of crossbows. What I do not like is whenever I put the bow/crossbow into a minifigure hand, it gets scratched up. Although it is not that noticeable especially in a sea of soldiers. Still waiting on my pick a brick orders of like 40 or more white horses. No saddles though. I only buy online pick a brick or official sets. Because A) to support Lego and B) sets like Prison Carriage Rescue and Escape from Dragon's Prisons are similar in price to bricklink once you break down the components, the minfigures, the weapons, the shields, the horses, and any other accessories like the horse barding. Plus free shipping from amazon and sometimes lego.com, and guaranteed excellent customer service. I guess if when the sets get discontinued, I might consider buying from bricklink to continue building my Lion and Dragon knight armies. Quote
Stiel Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I guess if when the sets get discontinued, I might consider buying from bricklink to continue building my Lion and Dragon knight armies. I don't get it. Once the sets get discounted, why not buy them directly? Quote
ziljin Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I don't get it. Once the sets get discounted, why not buy them directly? Discontinued. As in Lego stops selling them and no stores carry them anymore. Quote
ziljin Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I get the feeling if I made a topic it would get merged here so I will post it here instead. Quote
Stiel Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Discontinued. As in Lego stops selling them and no stores carry them anymore. Heh, right. I could swear I read discounted. Wishful reading maybe? Quote
