The Middleman Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Well, it's that time of year again, when students everywhere are forced into stone buildings guarded by armed police officers, where adults watch over them for the duration of the day and permission is needed to go to the bathroom. What am I talking about? School, of course! Tomorrow is my first day of 10th grade, and I'm sure a bunch more of our younger members will be starting within the next week or so as well. So what grade are you going into? What's your schedule? Are your teachers bloodsucking monsters? In answer to my own question, my classes are: Greek I Latin II English II Honors Debate I Biology Honors Health II Theatre II Algebra II Civics & Economics Honors So share your tales of woe with me, brothers! Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Let's see... I'm going into 9th grade. I'll be starting in 3 weeks or so...I go to Boston Latin School. (Just an interesting fact: my school's more than 370 years old! :o ) Here's their website. My subjects, as far as I know: Spanish I Latin II ( *devil* ) Algebra II World History I Science/Choice of Physics or Biology II English/English Language Enrichment II Health I Visual Arts/Connections (Theatre) I I don't know who my teachers are yet or my homeroom, but the thought of going back to school drives me crazy! Anyways, good luck to everybody going back to school this year! Quote
Khorne Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Here in Belgium (and probably other countries of Europe, too), our schedule looks a lot of different, so do the years. I'm 14 going on 15 and I'm going to the 3th year of Secundary School. My courses for what I know are: Economics: 4 Hours French: 6 Hours Dutch: 5 Hours English: 3 Hours Maths: 4 Hours Besides those, I have a whole lot of other courses, too, but the others are only 1 hour courses, so they're not that important, more scientific courses (god, I HATE science): Alchemy Biology ... Anyway after all my courses, I have a total of 32 hours, probably just like you *wacko* . Quote
ImperialJohn Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Finished school ten years ago. Sorry :D Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted August 26, 2005 Governor Posted August 26, 2005 Well, it's that time of year again, when students everywhere are forced into stone buildings guarded by armed police officers, where adults watch over them for the duration of the day and permission is needed to go to the bathroom. What am I talking about? School, of course! Students everywhere? Now thats not right! In the southern hemisphere the seasons are in reverse so therefore there's been no summer break [obviously] and students have been studying hard. Forced into stone buildings? That sounds really primative. In my part of the world we've branched out beyond stone to construct educational institutions, and after year 10 being a student is optional. So only those in year 10 and below are forced into being a student. But not usually into a stone building! Guarded by armed police officiers? Most of them would be lucky to have unarmed security guards! Although I recall getting in trouble by the groundsman a couple of times for various things, so perhaps armed police officiers are not required with such effective groundsmen. Permission is needed to go to the bathroom? Oh dear! This is bad. I just go without telling anyone, and if I was ever asked I'd say "I'm going to hang a leak". What am I talking about? School, of course! I thought you meant a juvenile dention centre! Quote
eDeevo Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Everyday is school; always learning something. :D I feel too old... finished high school LONG time ago ( 21 years ago!) and college (12 years ago). :( Don't feel so bad, I finished High School 12 years ago ;) Although I just finished College (unless I go for my PhD) a few months ago... :-D Life is Good. The Middleman Posted September 4, 2005 Author Posted September 4, 2005 I'm in fifthgrade now.Our scedule is math-flex,reading-flex,specials,social-studies *satis* ,science *satis* ,lunch(Yum!),recess :) ,more science :) ,and math |-/ . I'm not really sure you're aware of this, and I'm guessing you're not, but when you put a comma down, a space comes after it. For instance, it would be: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 not 1,2,3,4,5,6 It makes your writing very cluttered as it is, and more people will take the time to read it if you do it right. Quote
Capt_Jim Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 The greatest thing about being an adult is that if you don't want to go to work one day, only a phone call is required. :-D Quote
