With the midnight valley collection on the horizon I was wanting to start a discussion as I have been building my own haunted house and and running into a wall when it comes to horror style play features.

The couple I’ve come up with were a revolving painting that reveals the painting subject appearing in real life, a sort of moving curtain that reveals a ghost/ghoul.

I wanted to pick your brains as to what other horror focused play feature ideas can be developed, not every haunted house is built the same and I would love to make more after the first one comes to fruition but what do you think????

There are so many things you could do. The best would be some kind of jumpscare: a skeleton/ghost popping up from under a trap door, appearing from behind a revolving wall, or pushing out of a closet or something. Other ideas:

A vampire/mummy rising from their coffin like in the BDP Adventure in Transylvania set

A werewolf transformation feature like in the Shrieking Shack set

A statue on a turntable so that it can follow passersby

A tree that can spin around to reveal a scary face

Spiders dropping from the ceiling

Circling bats similar to the bees in the Winnie the Pooh set

A Hidden light brick with something in front of it to cast a scary shadow

A Frankenstein lab with various spinning gizmos, a raising table, etc.

The possibilities are endless!
