Mandalorianknight Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Part of entry set 2: Mandalore's Return While other coverts hid in the Shadows, the Mandalorian Shriek Hawks opted for a different approach, becoming one of the most skilled mercenary groups in the sector. Let any imperial force or Hutt Cartel enforcers foolish enough to try and take them on do so- the Shriek Hawks refuse to hide. L-R: The Witness, the Crusader, the Warrior, the Guardsman, the Mason, the Raven, and the Ronto. The Mason: "We Mandalorians are notoriously stubborn. Hiding does not become our people- if our enemies seek our beskar, let them try to take it." The leader of the Shriek-Hawks, The Mason’s true identity and clan are aspects of himself he leaves in the past, as do his counterpart covert leaders. However, some aspects of his unorthodox past bely an unorthodox future, and rather than hide in the shadows, The Mason employs his covert’s warriors as a mercenary and bounty hunting group. The mandalorians are the greatest warriors in the galaxy- rather than skulk in the dark, The Mason seeks to build the foundation for his people’s reputation to survive. Which is mildly anachronistic, as he himself is somewhat of a pacifist. Veril Cos: The Guardsman: "So many of our leaders have fallen. I will not allow it to happen again. I will not fail mandalore again." From one of the minor houses of clan Kryze, Veril was offworld when Duchess Satine was murdered, and stationed on Concord Dawn during the Siege of Mandalore. Determined to never again allow tragedy to befall his charges in his absence, Veril managed to evacuate The Mason during the Night of a Thousand Tears, and is the only one to know his true identity. Cos resultantly acts as The Mason’s bodyguard despite his leader's many complaints against the necessity of such a position, refusing to let The Mason out of his sight unless directly ordered into mercenary missions. Bishop Kast: The Raven: "Mandalorians have been mercenaries for thousands of years. We outlasted our old enemies, the Jedi- we'll outlast the Empire too." When House Kast aligned itself with Lord Maul, Bishop left her planet and people, disgusted that they’d allow an outsider to take the throne. Recoloring her armor, Kast found work as a bounty hunter - inadvertently sparing herself from the empire’s scouring of Mandalore. Having the most experience as a mercenary, Bishop acts as the field leader for the Shriek-Hawks during missions, her gruff exterior hiding her fierce desire to protect the people she once turned her back on. Ba’jin Tros: The Ronto: '"Enough about my violent past. Let's talk about my violent future." A former foundling who gained purpose and notoriety as one of Maul’s mandalorians, Ba’jin was imprisoned by republic forces during the Siege of Mandalore. His cell block was firebombed in the Night of a Thousand Tears, and while heavily injured by the fires, it provided his opportunity for escape. Salvaging his old helmet and using an unconventional, bulky chestplate made of all the Beskar he took offworld, Ba’jin is a nigh-unstoppable juggernaut. He eagerly jumps into mercenary missions, trying to “make up” for all the battles he was incarcerated during. Kalun Stak: The Warrior: "I left Mandalore like a coward, and I've been hiding ever since. Not anymore. If I do nothing else in this life... I will make it home." A member from one of the minor houses of clan Awaud, Kalun’s bloodline is used to being away from his homeland. Trained as a mandalorian warrior before the purge, his mentor sent him offworld following the Night of a Thousand Tears, where he drifted through the outer rim before being recruited to join the Shriek-Hawks. Kalun wants to fight the empire, and while he has no interest in dying at the hands of an inquisitor, he’ll always step in to protect his people. Liala Rook: The Crusader: "Everything that's happened to us has to have happened for a reason. Why were we pushed offworld if not to find something lost far from Mandalore? Why were our people scattered if not to find our unity?" Tracing her lineage back to one of the oldest clans- clan Rook-, Liala is a neo-cruscader and devotee of her people’s past. She’s constantly making the case to The Mason that the best way to ensure the future of the mandalorians is to find the ancient relic that preceded the darksaber before its loss to Darth Revan- Mandalore’s Mask. Disregarded by some of the older mandalorians as a zealot and a treasure-hunter, Liala nonetheless continues on, convinced the salvation of Mandalore the planet can be achieved by Mandalore the person. The Witness: *Clanking noises* The chronologically eldest member of the Shriek-Hawks, this miniature Bes’uliik has been with the mandalorians since the Old Republic. Currently in the care of and operated by Liala Rook, the droid’s ancient age has given it quite the personality, acting almost like an old Massiff Hound. But as much as it whines for oil or lazes around, the Witness’s primary programming is ensuring the survival of the mandalorian people. This is not the armorer's covert- aside from The Mason, who wishes to keep his identity secret, these Mandalorians do not hide their faces. Quote
n1majneb Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I'm of an age where I appreciate all use of the 'Legacy' expanded universe and the Bes’uliik war droids used is very welcome and really well executed in brick form. Something I haven't seen before. Great interpretations of Mandalorian's in your figure designs here too Quote
MKJoshA Posted June 9 Posted June 9 You've really maximized the customization of torsos here and it works really well. Quote

This Be'uliik is a lot smaller than it should necessarily be (hence the lore saying it's a miniature one), but while technically a droid I felt it would be cheating if my minifigure entry included a 300 piece behemoth. I always like to see how much customization I can do with mandalorians, being my favorite faction. The CMF rogue's arm on old man boba's torso was a nice color match to discover, as was Ahsoka's arms on Sabine's torso, since her rebels figures normally have bare arms. Quote
