[MOC] J5MOC - LEGO Johnny 5 from Short Circuit

J5MOC - JOHNNY 5 MADE OF LEGO

 - "Not malfunction, Stephanie... Number 5... is alive!" - 

There are already quite a few MOCs of Johnny 5, all of them very nice, and some are even motorized. Unfortunately, I always found them a bit too bulky, so I wanted to build a version that stays even closer to the original in terms of proportions, details, and functionality. I invested more than 10 years, a great deal of time, and a lot of passion into this model. Altogether, this passion project took well over 1,000 hours.

I’ve been a fan of the movie Short Circuit since childhood, so Number 5, aka Johnny 5, has always been something very special to me. I wanted to create a version that captures his iconic look and the many details as authentically as possible.

WHAT J5MOC CAN DO

• Movable eyelids
• Rotating and tilting head
• Fully articulated arms
• Opening chest hatch
• Flip-up control display cover
• Opening battery compartment cover
• Laser function
• Tilting upper body
• He can stand up and sit back down
• And much more.
   

 - "Not Disassemble!" -

 

1. ADD-ON: S.A.I.N.T-MODE
 

Before Number 5 came to life, he was  just like Numbers 1 through 4  a war machine: a S.A.I.N.T. robot built by NOVA Robotics. I added this mode later on as an additional feature.

2. ADD-ON: SC2
The second add-on for my MOC transforms the model into Johnny 5 as he appears in the sequel. Its main feature is the red toolbox, including the cutting torch that Number 5 uses to open the vault for Oscar in Short Circuit 2 .

Instructions

The construction is not really intended for play, but the model is sturdy and stable enough to work perfectly as a display piece.

The build itself is somewhat challenging, but I created detailed instructions with more than 430 steps, explaining everything meticulously.

 - "Keine Funktionsstörung Stephanie, Nummer fünf lebt!" - 

Es gibt schon einige MOCs von Johnny 5, alle sind sehr schön, manche sind sogar motorisiert. Leider fand ich bisher aber alle bisher etwas zu "bulky" und ich wollte eine Version bauen, die in proportionen, Details und Funktionen so noch näher an der Vorlage ist. Über 10 Jahre lang habe ich sehr viel Zeit und Leidenschaft in dieses Modell gesteckt. Insgesamt umfasste mein Herzensprojekt weit über 1000 Stunden.
Ich bin seit meiner Kindheit Fan des Films Nummer 5 Lebt! (im Original: Short Circuit), deshalb war der Roboter Nummer 5 aka Johnny 5 für mich schon immer was ganz besonderes. Ich wollte eine Version bauen, die seinen ikonischen Look und die vielen Details möglichst authentisch einfängt.

1. ADD-ON: S.A.I.N.T-MODE
 
Bevor Nummer 5 zum Leben erwachte, war er wie Nr 1 bis 4 auch, eine Kriegsmaschine, ein S.A.I.N.T-Roboter von NOVA Robotics. Diesen Modus habe ich im Nachhinein noch ergänzt.

2. ADD-ON: SC2
Das zweite Addon meines MOCs verwandelt das Modell in Johnny 5, wie er im Sequel. Es beinhaltet vorrangig die rote Toolbox inkl Schneidbrenner, wie Nummer 5 ihn Benutzt, um für Oscar den Tresor zu öffnen. Nummer 5 Gibt Nicht Auf! (im Original: Short Circuit 2)

Anleitung
Die Konstruktion ist nicht wirklich zum Spielen geeignet, aber das Modell hält problemlos und stabil als Display.
Der Bau ist schon etwas herausfordernd, aber ich habe eine Anleitung in über 430 Schritten erstellt alles penibel erklärt.

Ich hoffe, dieses MOC (eigentlich das einzige, an dem ich je ernsthaft gearbeitet hab:sm12:) gefällt euch. Lasst mich wissen, wie ihr es findet, vllt hat ja auch schon jemand J5Moc selbst gebaut und hat Anregungen und Kritik übrig. Ansonsten bleibt nur zu sagen:
