Number 5... is alive!" - There are already quite a few MOCs of Johnny 5, all of them very nice, and some are even motorized. Unfortunately, I always found them a bit too bulky, so I wanted to build a version that stays even closer to the original in terms of proportions, details, and functionality. I invested more than 10 years, a great deal of time, and a lot of passion into this model. Altogether, this passion project took well over 1,000 hours. I’ve been a fan of the movie Short Circuit since childhood, so Number 5, aka Johnny 5, has always been something very special to me. I wanted to create a version that captures his iconic look and the many details as authentically as possible. And here he is: WHAT J5MOC CAN DO Movable eyelids Rotating and tilting head Fully articulated arms Opening chest hatch Flip-up control display cover Opening battery compartment cover Laser function Tilting upper body He can stand up and sit back down And much more. - "Not Disassemble!" - 1. ADD-ON: S.A.I.N.T-MODE Before Number 5 came to life, he was just like Numbers 1 through 4 a war machine: a S.A.I.N.T. robot built by NOVA Robotics. I added this mode later on as an additional feature. - "Hey laser lips, your mama was a snow blower!" - - "Robot alert. Nummer 5 located. Capture. Do not destroy!" - 2. ADD-ON: SC2 The second add-on for my MOC transforms the model into Johnny 5 as he appears in the sequel. Its main feature is the red toolbox, including the cutting torch that Number 5 uses to open the vault for Oscar in Short Circuit 2 . - "Los Locos kick your megablocks, Los Locos kick your face, Los Locos kick your balls into outer space!" - Instructions The construction is not really intended for play, but the model is sturdy and stable enough to work perfectly as a display piece. The build itself is somewhat challenging, but I created detailed instructions with more than 430 steps, explaining everything meticulously. Dimensions: Width: 21 cm Depth: 29 cm Height: 38 cm (fully extended) The instructions are available on Rebrickable Rebrickable I hope you like this MOC (which is actually the only one I’ve ever seriously worked on 😄). Leider fand ich bisher aber alle bisher etwas zu "bulky" und ich wollte eine Version bauen, die in proportionen, Details und Funktionen so noch näher an der Vorlage ist. ADD-ON: S.A.I.N.T-MODE Bevor Nummer 5 zum Leben erwachte, war er wie Nr 1 bis 4 auch, eine Kriegsmaschine, ein S.A.I.N.T-Roboter von NOVA Robotics. Diesen Modus habe ich im Nachhinein noch ergänzt. - "Hey, Laserlippe. ADD-ON: SC2 Das zweite Addon meines MOCs verwandelt das Modell in Johnny 5, wie er im Sequel. Es beinhaltet vorrangig die rote Toolbox inkl Schneidbrenner, wie Nummer 5 ihn Benutzt, um für Oscar den Tresor zu öffnen. Nummer 5 Gibt Nicht Auf! (im Original: Short Circuit 2) - "Los Locus treten dir in den Arsch, Los Locus blasen dir den Marsch, Los Locus treten dir ans Schienbein, Los Locus schiessen dir die Eier ins All hinein!" - Anleitung Die Konstruktion ist nicht wirklich zum Spielen geeignet, aber das Modell hält problemlos und stabil als Display. Der Bau ist schon etwas herausfordernd, aber ich habe eine Anleitung in über 430 Schritten erstellt alles penibel erklärt. Maße: X: ca. 21cm Z: ca. 29cm Y: ca. 38cm (voll ausgefahren) Die Anleitung ist auf Rebrickable erhältlich: Rebrickable Ich hoffe, dieses MOC (eigentlich das einzige, an dem ich je ernsthaft gearbeitet hab:sm12:) gefällt euch. Daiman Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Fantastic! lots of great functional elements, Funny thing when I saw the title as I have just the last few days unboxed my reverse engineered version I made some 17 years ago and put him back together. I think the original was by Steven1980. Long before we had Rebrickable we just did our best I much prefer your version, after 10 years of problem solving I'd say you have nutted it out beautifully... charavision Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago (edited) [UPDATE] Interactive 3D Viewer and major J5MOC revision Hi everyone, i wanted to share a larger update for J5MOC. Besides building a browser based 3D viewer for the model, i also spent some time improving the actual build based on feedback from the community. The changes are: • track cover issue fixed • wedge plate and actuator issue fixed • blue parts changed from bright light blue to sand blue for a more accurate look • updated elbow joint design • several hidden parts replaced with more affordable alternatives • updated instructions and part lists The new browser 3D-Viewer can be found here: 3D-Viewer As always, feedback is welcome.
