GoH challenge wip

Here is my WIP, or more of a mock-up / layout planning for this build. The plan is to continue the series of amphitheater/ arena style builds I have been doing with an lecture hall for the Albion Campus. The idea is to use the rounded wall technique for the back wall, have some windows with openings to show the Avalonian countryside / add some color, and use a similar technique as used here for the seating. Probably the seating will be only 3 tiers and wider so I can incorporate some sort of desks / platforms for the students to take notes on.

I was also thinking about potentially mirroring the above layout and adding to the other side to make a full semicircle so the final scene & pictures would be more immersive; could add an entryway and stairs in the middle. However it would double the work and take it from a cozy intimate classroom setting to a much larger space. I'm also not sure what to do for the top / roof yet, I find that its always a pain to make curved stuff connect at the top.

Looking forward to another grand amphitheatre! I forgot to comment on the most recent one (until now!) but I was most impressed with it. Glad to hear the series is continuing.

Roof concerns seem to be on everyone’s mind lately. I don’t have any great suggestions though, especially if you want it to cover the whole build.

I have been waiting for you to take advantage of this technique. You have built several amphitheater style builds lately and I knew this would be up your alley!  Nice work so far by the way.  I hope you are able to use this in some of your future builds and find some new techniques for it. As for the roof, it depends on what you want to do. If it's open, it's easier, since you can make the curves however you want. If you're aiming for a dome, you can see how tricky that can be. If you're not worried about the exterior, you can build the dome ceiling in layers, essentially terracing your way up and then backfilling the rest with slopes etc. It's not ideal, but it's the fast way to do it.  If you're less concerned with a dome, you can add squared off roofing, such as square or octagonal high pitched roofs like a bell tower, or a rounded wedge technique to get a round sloped roof.

I like what you've done with the arches here, spacing the sticks to fit them.  Looking forward to seeing the full build!
