As soon as I laid eyes on the new Kraken Knight faction, I knew I wanted a medieval sailing ship to go along with them. The emblem on the shield felt destined to be displayed on a beautiful green cloth sail. The sail is a printed/recolored decal version of the Cloth Sail 28 x 18 with Dark Tan Stitching Pattern from Imperial Flagship 10210. It is LEGO and BrickLink part number 87676.

This LEGO Kraken Knight Medieval Cog Sailing Ship is a compact build that blends historical inspiration with classic Castle flair. Modeled after the historical medieval cog—a single-masted vessel used for trade and warfare from the 13th to 15th centuries—this ship is reimagined for the high seas of a mythical realm. Its brown hull and green accents create a rugged, battle-ready look, while the large cloth sail has a new print of the fearsome Kraken Knight faction.

The design is inspired by the classic LEGO set 6057 Sea Serpent and my own research. To research medieval cog ships, I visited the Boston Museum of Science to study real-world models of medieval ships, which helped influence the ship’s design and overall structure.

With ~440 pieces, this set is an accessible yet satisfying build, perhaps small enough to be a gift-with-purchase or a more affordable Lego Ideas set. Techniques used to shape the hull and layer the deck give the ship a rounded, sturdy form while maintaining durability for both play and display.

Despite its compact size, the ship includes several engaging play features. A movable ballista at the bow with extra bolts allows the crew to defend against sea monsters or rival factions. The open deck provides space for dynamic minifigure placement and storytelling, while the helm area allows the captain to command the ship on its journeys. The mast and sail assembly is sturdy, keeping the design simple while still visually striking.

The set includes three Kraken Knight warriors, each with a distinct role:

• A seasoned captain, ready to lead the crew across dangerous waters
• A skilled female archer, providing ranged defense from the deck
• A heavily armored warrior operating the ship’s ballista, his axe hanging ready on the mast

The model is sized to fit or scale with sets such as the Bricklink 910047 Medieval Seaside Market or 10305 Lion Knights' Castle.

One of the strengths of this design is its adaptability. By swapping sail colors, shields, and accent pieces, the ship can easily be modified to represent other castle factions. This flexibility allows builders to integrate the model into their own worlds, whether as a merchant vessel, a royal ship, or part of a rival fleet—greatly expanding its appeal.

This model is a tribute to classic LEGO Castle sets, historical ships, and the creativity that comes from blending the two. I hope it captures builders' imaginations and brings the Kraken Knights to life on the open seas. Thank you!

 Always happy to support castle ideas. The only change I’d make would be the tile strip after the curved tile might look better in either dark green or dark tan to break up the brown.
