Hi,

The V200, built by Krauss-Maffei in the 1950s, was the flagship diesel locomotive of the German railways during post-war reconstruction.

When they were withdrawn from service, in the 80s, many ended up in Italy, on the non-electrified sections of the so-called minor railways:

I built chassis 051 in red/white/black classic livery, mostly because I already had all bricks in the right colors.

I printed custom stickers on vinyl to finish it:

It's motorized with 2 Power function 9V motors (one inverted), IR controller and 6 lithium batteries

I created also 2 passenger wagon, previously owned by Swiss rails, then owned By Ferrovia Suzzara-Ferrara in 80s:

They're large 6 studs:

Hope you like it!

Hi Alan,

firstly, welcome to the club :steve: So nice that you have joined EB!

Secondly, so we have another Italian LEGO master builder. What's going on here? I know some here, and one individual personally, as well as his wonderful family - we spent ever remembered time together.

Third: For me, the V200 (later 220) is the most beautiful diesel locomotive, I have ever seen. She looks like an elegant, powerful Lady. The (original) colors and the decorations are breathtaking (only to me of course).

And finally: You captured/modeled this beautiful engine so nicely using "bricks", which per se sounds impossible. You made it happen.

Thank you so much for sharing!

Best regards
Thorsten

I echo what @Toastie said. Very nice models capturing the character of the iconic V200. Nice use of stickers on the nose of the V200. The doors on the passenger cars are very good too. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks @Toastie and @idlemarvel

I'm really a V200 lover since my childness, although classic V200 paint scheme here was tan and dark blue:

I'm surely not a master bulder.. I'm just a Lego exibithor since one year, Joining Brickpatici community in Italy.

Next step: condivinding with you some videos of my V200

Buonanotte!
Alan

here is a classic video about what to do if your v200 catches fire by the deutsche bundesbahn (most of the principles are a product of its time and not done this way today of course)

Oh god, the open door and walk in to room with a fire, put water on an oil fire, and stop on mainline without protecting the front and rear of your train.

But back on topic, you've done a great job recreating the look and feel of these vintage trains. Only one suggestion, could you make the doors on the passenger car one stud wider?

Yes, it could be possible. I'll think how to do it
