Hello!

After a while, I decided to rework my fireplace:

).

The main goal was to rebuild the back of the model to make it look more realistic. Given that now it utilizes a Powered Up hub and it can be programmed, the flames have and effect of blinking/flickering. The build uses one Powered Up L motor and one pair of LEDs. Also the inner mechanism was changed too and it allowed to make the model less thick. Also #2: a simple option to remove the front border was added to allow it to be a standalone model or a part of the modular build. Here are some other photos and an animation:

Also #3: here is a smaller and non-motorized version of this fireplace:

Also #4: not a final version, but still may be interesting - an addition with dancing minifigures (the male one rotates and the female - rotates and jumps):

Thank you for attention! :)

Nice little model, I like how the flames look with the lights, and minifigs are a nice touch :)

Could you show how how the mechanism for the moving flames work?

Thank you!) While I gather energy to create an instruction, here are few WIP-photos, maybe they will help:

The main thing is a regular crankshaft mechanism + guide axles to stabilize the motion (as you can see on the last photo; one axle per one moving block). The smaller fireplace has the same mechanism, just without guide axles.
