Monorail 2.0?

Bickset has just posted article about new Education sets:

The thing that caught my eye are specialized track pieces, which basically look like upgraded monorail pieces, both straight and curved, along with bracket allowing to keep motor on track.

Wow that is a great find indeed! @Murdoch17 I saw your comment on AI, and I do agree that AI is currently overhyped, but AI is much more than Large Language Models. The classical definition (symbolic AI) is much more about logic / programming 'intelligent' systems (that can even be conditional (if) statements) etc.

Yay, indeed it appears this could finally be TLG's own update and rerelease of a monorail system!  I hope they make some motors that look more similar to the original monorail motors, riding on top of the track rather than a full block surrounding the track, and I hope there is a simple way to make bogies that ride over this new track.

Compatibility with the original track would be a dream, but not really necessary, in my opinion.  It would lead to a lot of unhelpful complications.

P.S. I also hope TLG releases these tracks in consistent and relevant colors for use in City monorails (gray would be nice).

As far as I can see from those pictures its currently just sliding over the tracks with no rollers? But I think actually having them clip to the track makes them more usefull.

It will be really interesting to the what TLG is going to do with that system. I doubt they just developed it for a single set where they don't seem to offer much value.
