Grover Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Welcome to Mitgardia If you are new and want to join the fun here, you just think of a character/sigfig for yourself, post it here, and start building. For a signup example you can look at the members overview section. Green and yellow are the official colors of Mitgardia, so incorporating them into your creations helps show your loyalty though it is not required to have the Mitgardian colors in every MOC. Keep reading to find out more about the great Northern guild! Section One: Guilds of Historica Background See the main Book IV thread for the origins and current story status. Section Two: Guild Background and Theme Mitgardia: Frigid Wonderland Landscape: From the Frozen Beyond with its secrets to the vast snowy lands of various clans. Where the clan territory ends the terrain starts with large pine forests and the heavenly mountains. After passing the mountains you'll find the tundras and finally there's the Demon's Ridge. That's Mitgardia. No one knows what lies in the Frozen Beyond, not many dare to go there. It is home to fierce creatures like ice dragons and blizzard wolfs, whom haven't crossed the Ebar stream for centuries which connects the Frozen Beyond to the Clan Lands. Recently the fearsome Algus made an attempt to overthrow all of Mitgardia, but have been pushed back into the wastelands of the Frozen Beyond. The Clan Lands are home to various tribes. The conditions are extremely harsh as there's snow whole year long, here real men are made. At the age of 12 boys are send into the cold by pairs, to make it on their own a whole year long to return as men. Even southern cities send their boys to the clans to learn the ways of the clans. South of the Clan Lands majestic mountains appear. The Heavenly Mountains, surrounded by pine forests these mountains are home to grand cities like Omurtag. These mountains are also Mitgardia's economical heart, because they contain iron, gold, coal and other treasures. Past the mountains you'll find the tundra, which holds plains and forests. These lands are Mitgardia's agricultural center and it's home to most of Mitgardia's inhabitants as it also contains Valholl, the capital. In the summer the tempertures can even go up as high as the ones they are used to in Kaliphlin, because of warm winds from Nocturnus´ vulcanoes. Most south lies Demon's Ridge. A natural barrier to keep unwanted guests out of Mitgardia. With its steep mountains, combined with the cold, you don't want to go through them without a guide. The Isles of Solitude are mostly uninhabited, though ruins of ancient strongholds still remain, and a few outposts of stalwart Mitgardians can be found. Standard: Green and yellow unite Mitgardia. Economy: Giant mines with Historica's best treasures, and of course Ale, are Mitgardia's most important economical resources. Timber is also plentiful Section Three: Recent Guild History The unification of the guilds to defeat the Black Spire was short lived, and bickering among the guilds began to grow as covert evil forces worked to sow dissent. Mitgardia suffered a difficult winter and its people were hungry. The Queen, through the opening of trade routes with Varlyrio, leveraged the monies to send aid to the most needy guilds, including food to Mitgardia. Mitgardia faced internal squabbling amongst fiefdoms, but Elon Chorian and Sir Glorfindel held the jarls and people together, and Mitgardia proved loyal to the crown, sending its own aid in the form of their legendary bear cavalry to support the Queen in her most dire time of need. The defeat of the Enlightened and their aims to further any anarchy they could led finally to peace. The harvest in Mitgardia had been good, and with peace and trade, Mitgardia now finds itself in a time of prosperity. Section Four: Current Guild Challenges. LordDan Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) I, Dan , declare my support for the mighty guild of Mitgardia! Although Dan will always remain a loyal ally and friend of Avalonia, he is taking a winter vacation for a bit! Originally a lord of Avalonia hailing from the settlement of Araluen , Dan unfortunately lost his title after disappearing without a trace and failing to show up for his lordly duties ( he spent a few years living in Nocturnus). Since then, Dan has spent his time traveling throughout all of Historica as an adventurer; exploring, fighting, and helping those in need (along with exploring the various food, drink, and entertainment the different guilds have to offer ). He plans to continue traveling across the guilds and is excited to bring some Avalonian spirit to the frozen wastes of Mitgardia, as well as looking forward to discovering some of that famed Mitgardian Dwarven Ale! I had the 'above' and 'below' pics and have been doing a lot of writing lately... dang it! I will go fix this... but since you are the mistaken guild leader, I assume you declare free drinks for all? Sorry about that! Also, I am glad to see you returning, and we will take you any time, May or whenever! Edit: Oh! I see what I did... I was copy/pasting and then editing the Book III thread to update it and had a copy/paste error then deleted the wrong section. My apologies! I'm surprised I didn't mess up more honestly! It's fixed now. *phew!* Quote

Captain Flint Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Gunther van Hal remains loyal to Mitgardia. Quote
Seagull King of Vaughan Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Sir Oscar Vanderlynn, Baron of Thanesford, will continue in his allegiance to Mitgardia! His goal continues to be improving Thanesford and making it a centre for trade. I’ve not had the time to take a new sigfig picture, so since this one is less than a year old I’ve decided to reuse it. I may create a new one over the summer when I have more time to experiment. Quote

MKJoshA Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Hello fellow Mitgardians, I'm hoping to build a few MOCs showing some activity around the guild. We currently have Elon Chorian as our Jarl and leader of the Guild. I don't see any reason to change that up right now, but I'd love to get a council of advisors to the Jarl using either your sig-fig or a supporting character you've come up with. If you want to be a part of that let me know and I'll try to incorporate your figs into my MOCs over the next few months. Quote
The Stad Posted March 25 Posted March 25 @MKJoshA, I love this idea. I’ll give you an advisor to incorporate shortly. Quote
