He's thinking of settling down after five years of bounty hunting... It's good to be back after a bit of a hiatus! I'm planning to build out a settlement (and to build more in general). I'll soon make a post featuring Kars in the dedicated Avalonia thread (with an updated wardrobe for him and his company). That’s great news! Looking forward to seeing it. Quote

Ben S Posted January 31 Posted January 31 I’m staying with Mitgardia! I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the same character or create a new one, though. Since I don't have much free time, I don’t know how much I'll be able to participate, but I’ll definitely enjoy your contributions. I'm really excited about the new GoH book! Quote
Grover Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Welcome back @jtooker, @Gideon, and @Ben S! As for time, we are all busy. We are trying to lay out the various challenges and preludes so that we are able to slowly roll out some builds to keep the story going and then give you all ample time on challenges to design, build, even order bricklink or PAB parts if you want them, etc. This should be a fun endeavor and we don't want to impose a massive time crunch on it, so please join us when you can and enjoy yourself! Good news: we have left things open enough that the factions are very flexible. You should be able to do what you want with them and not feel constrained. Given the recent prelude 3 post, I am not giving anything away to say that, with the Desert King as the main antagonist, you can reasonably anticipate undead, magical, summoned and other such creatures, although we also leave flexibility there as well. You didn't know you had changed your name and been made acting guild leader! Sorry about that! I got it fixed now. General question for everyone here, what do you all think about the pacing of the preludes? We are trying to set the stage here with some background, allowing some time for free builds and for people to continue to come back to the Guilds, and also keep a steady pace (but not fast) so that there's always something interesting here. We're trying some new things this book, so any feedback as to what you do and don't like is appreciated, and we will try and adjust things and improve as we go. Quote

T-86(swebrickLUG) Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Sounds like a smart way of getting Book IV going this way @Grover I see no problem in pacing at all. Like you mentioned it gives time for some freebuilds and to people tuning in! Thanks for the fine prelude-builds and storyline-movement! Quote

This was the last prelude build before the challenge, which will start next week! Get ready! And thank you for the thanks. I have enjoyed making the prelude builds and trying to get the story moving again. It has been a lot of work, but I think the fire is now lit. It will be up to all of you to keep it going as we start the first challenge next week. Now that we have set the stage with a bunch of background, the challenges will incorporate builder input to the storyline as has been tradition here, so I look forward to everyone's creativity and enthusiasm!
