Jurss Posted Saturday at 11:19 AM Posted Saturday at 11:19 AM Again started something (don't know how much I started contests previously and didn't finished), will really try to finish this time. First weighting of first duo component after this I know, that I can continue pretty freely HOG and engine first iteration ready Also some exhaust Can You guess what will be second part of duo? Quote
allanp Posted Saturday at 11:50 AM Posted Saturday at 11:50 AM Judging by the engine, I'm thinking the first part is an Ariel Atom, and the second part is Jeremy Clarksons melting face! https://youtube.com/shorts/hL0gcNVXghs?si=HZ6rdYZdDY6a3cma Quote
1980SomethingSpaceGuy Posted Saturday at 11:09 PM Posted Saturday at 11:09 PM Happy to see you join the party, @Jurss! Orange fun? Some would think KTM... Looking forward your progress on this duo! Quote
Jurss Posted Sunday at 06:05 AM Author Posted Sunday at 06:05 AM yesterday everything went pretty fast and well. Some preliminary pics. Functions - direct drive :) engine and HOG steering. Weight - 154g. Need to upscale :) Will rebuild front, as it too low now, will go for 3 stud height, will try fit front lights. Quote
Jurss Posted Sunday at 11:16 AM Author Posted Sunday at 11:16 AM Changed front Replaced part for fake gear shifter, which is on HOG steering axle, and was really limiting steering angle with Looks better, but doesn't improve steering. Need to use something different. Quote
Jurss Posted Sunday at 04:37 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:37 PM As bases for gear shifter put #1 connector. Left intentionally possibility to move it back and forward. Also borrowed rear view mirrors from Ferrari FXX Quote
Jundis Posted Sunday at 05:15 PM Posted Sunday at 05:15 PM Love the idea and the looks of this so far! But the lack of the steering via steering wheel is really a bummer... did you try to include a steering via liftarm linkage instead of the steering rack? E.g. with the 7L flipflop beam instead of the 7L gear rack... Quote
Jurss Posted Monday at 05:10 AM Author Posted Monday at 05:10 AM I have fitted working steering wheel on some car transporter cars, and on some have given up trying to implement that. This is even smaller scale. I don't see any advantages for steering via liftarm. That would not help for implementing steering wheel. Maybe, if front would be connected with only one beam somehow, then I would somehow imagine working steering wheel. Now it is in fact connected with only one beam - two halfbeams :) Yes, if steering rack would be on top, then maybe somehow, but everything there is really tight for any connection option. Quote
1980SomethingSpaceGuy Posted Monday at 09:48 AM Posted Monday at 09:48 AM It's quite tight indeed, but I also get the frustration of seeing the steering wheel that close to the steering mechanism and not being actuated... Maybe you can link that axle to the steering wheel with a rubber band or a liftarm? Quote
