Across the frigid tundra of Tauber, a jockey and his native mount train for the Canto-Key Derby. An employee of the NeuroSaav corporation, Tur C'otte has been riding tauntauns almost as long as he's been assigned to the Tauber facility - nearly 20 years. His mount, a sorrel gelding named Dicastery, bounds over the lichen-encrusted surface, claws digging in for grip.

Tauntauns are deceptively fast, but their real strength lies in their endurance - their muscular legs propelling them effortlessly in a loping stride for dozens of kilometers in a day. Steady mounts, they are unlikely to make a reckless leap or risk becoming unbalanced unless a predator is at their heels.

Most tack for tauntauns is modeled after what the Rebels used on Hoth, but C'otte had a custom set made in Republic Blue - much lighter than the military saddles.
