OddyBuilds Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 G'day everyone, Christmas is here so have some holiday cheer! The dark red Christmas pickup truck is a common sight in Christmas movies (you'll often find one puttering around in the background shots), and I wanted to make one that fits my 4 wide classic city scale. My video includes free building instructions that you can follow along: Some photos from my Flickr page for those who don't want to watch the video: Quote
FGMatt Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 Love it! Inspired me to make a custom "hot rod" version of the same truck Quote
OddyBuilds Posted December 28, 2025 Author Posted December 28, 2025 Thanks @FGMatt! And that's awesome, the wide tyres/wheels matches perfectly with the wider rounded bricks for the wheel arches! Also, if you disable Bricklink Studio's part colour availability filter (blue funnel icon in the top right when you have a part selected and you click the colour picker droplist in the top right) and then search "Rubber Black", you'll be able to apply the rubber material to parts like the tyres so they look more realistic in your renders! You can also upload your designs to Bricklink to buy the parts (providing you only use rubber colours with parts you know are made from rubber) and the site will accept the files without errors. I don't know why Studio doesn't allow you to select the material type by default, but hey. I've added a Rebrickable page with the exact parts list provided for my Christmas pickup truck (it took a bit to be approved, better late than never!): https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-245424/M.O.Brix/classic-city-scale-christmas-pickup-truck/ Quote
