Ross Fisher Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 (edited) In their infinite wisdom, the rulers of the land have decided that we need information about our rivals. Visit one of the other factions and gather intelligence. This prompt will be subject to the rules laid out in How to Play. The subject is open to your interpretation. This doesn't have to be enemy military secrets - knowing the health, happiness and prosperity of our allies is just as important. Your MOC can be literally any size. You don't even have to include terrain if you don't want to. Just remember that every player gets the chance to vote for their favourites. If you want that to include your build, think about how you'd get people to vote for you. To submit an entry, add your own thread topic under Tales of Old. Start the title with [YOUR OWN FACTION - CH2]. You don't need to include the name of the faction you're spying on in your thread title. Then, once that topic is published, link to it in this topic. Easy! You have until 4 January to build a scene depicting life under one of the other factions, those being: Mardier Corrington Oleon Pyros Mogholay The Black Horde From 5 January you will vote for your favourite builds. The faction with the single most popular build will decide what happens next. Players must belong to a faction before submitting an entry. We want to know who you're spying for, after all. Khorne Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 2 hours ago, Professor Thaum said: What is this country ? It seems very interesting The Black Horde, or Black Khanate, is basically the Kingdoms of the Great Raider of BOBS. They're the "big bad" of the setting. Since we always envisioned them as a mysterious NPC nation, I hadn't put up the Faction information topic yet.
Khorne Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 On 12/7/2025 at 9:17 PM, Professor Thaum said: OK, thx I should've added "but I intend to post a succinct Faction page with info shortly" at the end of my last sentence. Will try and do this over the coming weekend. If it can help you out, the Black Horde is a precursor to the Kingdoms of the Great Raider (as I've mentioned). Information is scarce, as very few people travel there, and most of the contacts that are made with the Horde is through raids and war. The territory of the Khanate is vast and covers most of the Great Steppe and northern wastes and is home to many different tribes and peoples, all (or at least most) subjugated by the Great Khan. While some might be more real-life Mongol-influenced, others further north and farther from the civilized world might be more barbaric. While the tribes of the Horde are usually equated with mounted swift cavalry raids into the Pyrite Empire and sometimes beyond, the tribes of the icy northern coasts are known to ply the Great Northern Ocean and pillage the coasts of the northern kingdoms of the Madrician Peninsula.

Khorne Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Once more, I will allow myself three votes: @LM71Blackbird: I really like the lighting here and the cramped nature of the build. The story is also an interesting buildup to more. Despite it not really being set in a different Faction, I still think it's a fun build. @Ross Fisher: Great build and look at another Faction. Nice story as well! @Professor Thaum: Love the undercover characters
Ross Fisher Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 I am voting for: Everyone! @LegacyBuilder I love those figures. They really sell it. @The Sarge The comedy in your build is fantastic. @Khorne your concept is fantastic. I'd love to see further builds. @merc A lovely build, and a great decorative border. @LM71Blackbird Your lighting is fantastic. @evancelt knocking it out of the park with almost no scenery at all! @Professor Thaum your building is getting better and better. @Ross Fisher You've got to back yourself, haven't you?
LM71Blackbird Posted January 10 Posted January 10 @Khorne: details are great and the totem turned out great. @The Sarge: I like the close up of the shot and the wall and ground texturing @Professor Thaum: love the setting and minifigures! Really fun build!
alphonse Posted January 11 Posted January 11 These are all great, but if I have to go with some top contenders @Professor Thaum love the build, humor, all around great @Khorne: great scene love it, tons of little details in there @Ross FisherGreat build, rockwork with a fun story
merc Posted January 11 Posted January 11 As most have done three votes I will follow the same format. @LegacyBuilder I quite enjoyed the story. @Ross Fisher I really liked the build and the top of that tower. @Professor Thaum I echo what everyone else said, great build and nice story that is both humorous and ties into the season.
LegacyBuilder Posted January 12 Posted January 12 @KhorneI like the build, especially how the figures are both in the point of pulling down the statue and getting ambushed at the same time. I also like how the build Represents the intercepted letter, like a snapshot. Creative! @Ross Fisher I appreciate the terrain of your build and the eastern stylistic elements. @LM71BlackbirdI like the claustrophobic nature of the build that lends itself well to a dungeon. I also like the various detailing and points of view we can gain from the build.
The Sarge Posted January 12 Posted January 12 @Khorne Great build, and great letter! I'm excited to see how this story develops. @LM71Blackbird I like the immersive nature of the build! It really sells itself as a nasty dungeon. @Ross Fisher The irregular base is great, as is the architecture. I do wish the background was a more solid color though! @Professor Thaum Quite fun! And a nice nod to the season as well.
Ross Fisher Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 Voting is now closed. Thanks everyone for taking part. Congratulations to @Professor Thaum for winning this round. As always, it was a really great build, full of humour and iconic Lego building. We'll be in touch with @merc, as the Mogholay nation leader, in due course to discuss the reward; choosing the prompt for the next team challenge. The next prompt will drop at the start of February, so feel free to take the rest of this month off (or build on your character's story).
