Mandalorianknight Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 The concept of a subscription service for lego star wars sounds horrible to me, to be honest. I have much wider issues with the general concept of just global shifts towards subscription services, renting instead of buying, paying money to own nothing, etc, but as it relates to lego, the idea of paying a monthly fee just to have access to sets or something might be what it takes to finally fully cut me off of buying firsthand sets from lego.com and retailers. With the advent of "smart" sets shoving technology and app integration into my legos, the fact that we're seemingly entering a second year of no normal system OT sets, and the exponential price increases, I think a subscription service is probably the worst thing lego could do that they haven't already done to this theme. All that is to say, I expect lego to launch a star wars subscription service within 5 years. Quote
