XG BC Posted December 21 Posted December 21 the updated locomotive looks amazing, the doors feel a little too recessed to me, if you can figure out how to make them less recessed into the body, that would be perfect (but thats nitpicking). can you fit the train motor inside the body with its output shaft above the main bogie? if youd manage to do that, maybe there is a way to make a 3 axle driven bogie at this scale (would need some custom sides though) Quote
LL1982 Posted Tuesday at 09:09 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 09:09 AM Thanks. I understand your point about the doors. I also build it with the doors on the outside plain and was doubting what would work better. Its now on a jumper plate for the step back. I also considered keeping the bars at the normal outside of the locomotive and only recess the door. Someone else also mentioned putting the train motor on its side inside. Its something I will thinker with in the near future. But I will build the boogie first to see how two will fit. I do doubt if just putting a technic motor in (horizontal or vertical) is not easier then. Quote
XG BC Posted Tuesday at 07:50 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:50 PM if you have a technic motor that is even better as it will gain you more room inside. Quote
LL1982 Posted Wednesday at 09:03 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 09:03 AM Not yet, but I saw a few L motors on offer at a local BL store. It would free up my train motor for another build. So it's worth considering it. Quote
