Hello forum,

I've been registered here for a while now and have mostly been a silent reader...

Now the time has come, and I'm starting my own thread here to show you some of the things I build with the colorful bricks.

First up is the "MH-60T Jayhawk" of the U.S. Coast Guard. Information and pictures of the real aircraft can be found here on Wikipedia.

The model is a slightly modified replica based on the instructions from Brickmania. Nevertheless, I wanted to show it to you.

Let's start with a view from all sides:

MH-60T Jayhawk U.S.Coast Guard 02

MH-60T Jayhawk U.S.Coast Guard 04

MH-60T Jayhawk U.S.Coast Guard 06

The model, just like the original, can fold the rotor and the tail boom together in order to be stored in a space-saving manner, for example on ships or in smaller hangars:

MH-60T Jayhawk U.S.Coast Guard 10

MH-60T Jayhawk U.S.Coast Guard 11

The crew consists of a pilot and co-pilot, the winch operator who also serves as a paramedic, and a rescue swimmer with diving equipment (from left to right). The helicopter's cargo also includes a stretcher, various medical devices, life vests, a lifebuoy, a rescue buoy, and a signal flare:

To successfully carry out "Search and Rescue" missions even in difficult conditions, the helicopter has a radar at the front (which also gives the helicopter its nickname "Jayhawk"), a thermal imaging camera and searchlights and various antennas to ensure communication. In addition, a total of three external fuel tanks are mounted on the sides to achieve increased flight duration.

I'm considering whether to further enhance this (and subsequent models) with stickers/decals.

However, I must say I already quite like the look as it is, even though small details are difficult to implement without stickers.

As mentioned at the beginning, my modifications are minimal, such as the built-in markings on the main rotor and the radio antenna on the right side of the tail boom. I'm considering building the cockpit glass using transparent bricks and cheese slopes, similar to the other MH/UH-60 versions from Brickmania.

I hope you like the model as much as I do! Comments, questions, or (improvement) ideas are welcome!

Currently, two more helicopters are waiting in the hangar to be finished (although they are "only" modifications of existing models). As soon as I have all the parts, I will of course present them here.

Best regards, Fabian

Wow, what a model! Looks really cool!

Are you planning to add stickers/decals?

Can't wait for the others models to come!

Thank you very much, but as I mentioned in my previous post, this is just a rebuild of a Brickmania instruction with minor modifications.

I did consider using stickers, but I don't know how to create and print them so they look good.  However, I think you can still tell what it's supposed to be even without stickers, and the same goes for the following models. The distinctive paint scheme is recognizable even without them.

Good looking Jayhawk. Nice attention to all the details. Making the color scheme out of LEGO is a trick.

Thank you. I tried to recreate some details, such as the antenna on the tail boom. But basically, these are just minor modifications. The color scheme is from Brickmania.

I also have another Black Hawk model with working sliding doors, but I don't know if I can transfer that to the single door on the Jayhawk.

EDIT: Little sneak peak of my next model:

Best regards and stay tuned for more, Fabian

Hello forum,

The Bell UH-1 is the most produced Western helicopter in the world and has been in service since 1958 (in various versions, of course). More information about its history and the different versions can be found on Wikipedia.

As I've already hinted, here are some pictures of my replica of the Bell UH-1(D) as a SAR version.

This model also originally comes from Brickmania. However, due to the conversion to the camouflage scheme, I had to make changes regarding stability and buildability.

Let's start here, as usual, with the 360° view:
(Unfortunately, the image quality isn't the best; I had to brighten them a bit because black and dark green are always a little difficult to photograph...)

Bell UH-1(D) SAR 02

Bell UH-1(D) SAR 03

The cockpit doors and the sliding door (including the small side door) can be opened, allowing you to look inside the model. Here you can see the equipment required for rescue operations, including a stretcher, a permanently installed ventilator, and monitors for vital signs:

Bell UH-1(D) SAR 07

On the right side, there is also a rescue winch to retrieve people from difficult-to-access locations:

Bell UH-1(D) SAR 08

The crew consists of a pilot and co-pilot (still to be ordered), as well as an paramedic:

As always, comments, remarks, and constructive criticism are welcome!

Best regards, Fabian
