spacie Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Another year, another SHIP. Built for SHIPtember 2025. This is easily the biggest project I've ever undertaken at a length of 160 studs, a weight of 13.5 kg and probably upwards of 10,000 parts. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Sleek ship design. Has a Futurama (both style and show) feel to it with the angles and color scheme. Must be a monster to display. Quote
EamonnMR Posted October 18 Posted October 18 That aggressive prow just screams "ramming speed!" Awesome subtle detail between the panels too. Nice work. Quote

I was trying to channel some "naval ram" kind of design for the front end (and a bit of ocean liner funnels on the top), so it's nice that that's somewhat noticeable! Quote
GeoBrick Posted October 19 Posted October 19 That nautical star shape must've been hell to accomplish. It looks perfect. The color scheme is perfect, and the subtle greebling between the sides finishes the ship nicely. Quote
Seagull King of Vaughan Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Lovely design and colour. There are so many different shapes coming together! Quote
Israel Hands Posted October 20 Posted October 20 (edited) I like them. They have a classic sci-fi book cover look to them. A bit Chris Foss, a bit Colin Hay inspired Edited October 20 by Israel Hands Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Very neat design ans beautiful color scheme. That azure is so much ...how many pieces are there for the entire MOC? Quote

Interestingly the star shape at the front is all just simple connections to the spines that support the teal exterior panels (though those were themselves a bit trickier to get right) 17 hours ago, LEGO Train 12 Volts said: Very neat design ans beautiful color scheme. Best guess for part count is somewhere upwards of 10k, knowing that there's 2 to 3k teal pieces and another 2k+ brackets / SNOT pieces hidden in there, and that I went through the majority of my 1x and 2x plates. 18 hours ago, Israel Hands said: I like them. Reminds me that last year's group shot made someone think of this piece. Quote
Israel Hands Posted October 21 Posted October 21 yes I first saw that image in the Mechanismo art book. At time stamp 4:15 here. Minor warning if you go through the entire video, low level minor nudity Quote
KotZ Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Great work! I love the color scheme and the angular design. I really like how you shaped those thrusters. Quote

If you want a look behind the scenes, the thrusters are a very dense structure based on the unique geometry of part 3145 (which also show up in large numbers for attaching the main hull panels). Art books is not something I've really looked into before, but it seems like a worthwhile endeavor. Edited November 7 by spacie Quote
