koraldon Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Looking to add some switches to my tracks, Besides Lego switches, and the R104 by bricktracks, what other switches are injection molded? From my understanding trixbrix switches are all 3d printed Quote
JopieK Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Probably the Chinese one's?! I don't have experience with them but I guess they have the technology and opportunities to do so. Quote
LL1982 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Regular switch, single cross-over and Y are 3D printed at trixbrix indeed. Does feel solid, but more a mat finish than the sparkling lego finish. Quote
M_slug357 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 It'd be great if TrixBrix started offering injection molded variants of their more complex switches, especially that R104 doubleslip switch I would definitely be on board for IM narrow gauge track too! Quote

Positively surprised. Quote
JopieK Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Interesting. Thanks for the update. I think I'm still in denial, but due to LEGO's lack of innovation regarding trains (well, on those two new track parts for the "snow train") and Powered Up, you're practically forced to resort to Chinese parts or a 3D printer, right? Uhm, not "forced", just smoothly sailing - to the Seas of East Asia. Funny though that they come-up with you-name-it molds and pieces, although these are soo unbelievably expensive, that TLG simply can't do it without slapping another-one-bites-the-dust prices on such unobtainia . And yes, I never took any Latin classes. Thorsten Quote
dr_spock Posted October 13 Posted October 13 3rd party or DIY may be the way to go for non-LEGO standard layout geometry. I see Chinese tracks go on bundle sales from time to time. To be sure, look at close up pictures of the product, if you don't see 3D print layer lines, then it is injected. Quote
dtomsen Posted October 16 Posted October 16 (edited) The plastic part of the P40 switches from Fx Bricks are injection molded. Just like the rest of their tracks. Edited October 16 by dtomsen Quote
