Hi,

As I was a little sick last weekend, I could once more take care of the indoors hobby... ;-)

Next to my MOCs, the rebuilding of some commercial sets to 8w is now completed.

First, the "Schlieren" coaches and class 2043 diesel of Verein Gailtalbahn / Bluebrixx:

Comparison before/after (the stylized ÖBB logo is my design ;-))

Two 8w Schlieren MODs were made from 3 6w sets, the "Langer Schlieren"/"Inlandsreisezugwagen" MOC behind the class 1042 MOC contains parts of an additional two 6w Schlieren sets.

8w version of class 2043:

I tried to keep the spirit of the original designs - however, with 8w, the structure of the model has to be completely newly built.

More space allows the hub to be moved inside the engine - before, it hung down below attached only by a few studs which loosened over time (as the top of the engine narrowed to less than 4 studs wide).

From Lesdiy, I purchased an ÖBB class 1044 electric, two red-gray ÖBB Eurofima cars and an Italian FS class 656. I won't order from then again, because I think it is ecologically not viable to order with a German company only to get single packets by airmail from China. Also, the parts are of low quality compared to the price. Most alternative companies have improved massively over the past years, these are parts like you got them around the year 2020. So, many parts that could be replaced have been replaced. Some were not available otherwise.

I fitted two train motors to the class 1x44.

I came up with the "1" design last Sunday :0)

The roof parts were taken from several Bluebrixx "Mitteleinstiegswagen" sets, some other parts of those were used for my Chinese passenger car MOCs (could be seen shortly in the last video, will of course present them later).

The 2nd class coach. The most grueling job with the colour red is finding matching pieces. It's like having a dozen different colour tones available.

That's how it had looked like in 6w, back then I already had changed the locomotive front design.
