Relic Ruminator

In a richly pained salon off the noble quarter, Myndros the Minotaur balances a porcelain teacup between careful fingers, candlelight tracing a hairline in the glaze.

“Ah, Pre Historica craftsmanship. Fired in the kilns of Barqa, no doubt. Note the cobalt flourish—an artisan’s flourish, not a court commission.”

Myndros, the Relic Ruminator at work

Still a bard of Historica, Myndros learned his lore on the road, trading songs for secrets in guild halls and market squares. Summoned by nobles and fine merchants alike, all those in the room yearn to learn from the knowledge of the Relic Ruminator.

Spoiler

I created this scene for the Guilds of Historica’s Book IV Prelude Challenge: “Those who can… Teach”.

The bookshelf design is by unknown.

Nice take on the bull in a China shop concept! The display case and furniture are great. The Kali logo on the side is a nice touch, but I'm not a fan of blue showing through the top.

The wood floor is perfectly executed at this small scale with the SNOT technique and as others have said, the display case on the right is a standout.  Great work in a small footprint!

Whoa, somebody sound the alarm!  Have we found the original bull in a china shop?!

Really nice furniture in here, nice to see a rounded base too--clever way to get the Kaliphlin colors in there!

An excellent assortment of relics, and an impressive brick-built Minotaur head! My only critique is that I think the door frame would have been better in white to match the un-printed  edges of the wallpaper bricks.

I had this idea while doing the part A challenge and I'm glad the idea worked well.

I like your rounded base that shows off the Kali flag. I also really like your knife case.

Thanks, I got the display case idea from IamKritch

It is a little better in person, but I had hoped the blue would not have shown through as much and it is very obvious from the photos.

Good job getting all the detail into a small, rounded area! It looks like a very respectable place.

‘Pre-Historica craftsmanship’ gave me a laugh!

I like the round foundation. It gives a softness to the build.

A really nice little scene and the round base is something fresh and different. Great build!

I'm glad you liked it - thank you for the kind words

Agreed; between the space and time restrictions this was one of the corners I had to cut.

Really solid base, I like the contrast of browns on the floor. The knife case is great. What I like most is that small bookshelf, the columns are fantastic! I might use that technique for future builds. :excited:
