domik Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Hello, recently I repaired my servo motor's cable, but the next day the pcb plate inside it burnt. It must've been me flipping the motor so that the things for soldering cables could touch the plate. Anyways, I don't have a servo now, and I have a couple of options. I thougth I could buy some cheap random servo from allegro, which is a polish amazon or something like that, a cada one, or an original Lego. If you could help, maybe have some experience with servos, I appreciate anything! The most I'm curious about is are the original Lego ones worth it? It's a big price difference, but I think it could be worth it. What are your thoughts? Quote

(unless a new one came out recently that does- but I doubt it) Quote
Krxlion Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Same as above. I have CADA, mould king, and some cheap servo-motor from aliexpress. None have proportional steering. Either get a new used one, PU L Motor as a steering motor - if you have the option, or Geekservo if you use RC stuff. Quote

More force than the other options, more precision, IMO better form factor, and cheaper. The only downside is wrapping your head around rc electronics is a little daunting at first. Quote
1gor Posted August 16 Posted August 16 On 5 of my servos cable deteriored (and internal wires are broken!) despite they were in the box; noone touched them (or thete are pergaps ghosts?) Quote

On my one that was like the 48th time that the same happened On 8/15/2025 at 10:11 PM, Krxlion said: Same as above. I have CADA, mould king, and some cheap servo-motor from aliexpress. I could look into geekservo more, but sadly I already have my car built with the shape of the PF servo, and I'm too lazy to change that Quote

A little correction - mould king servo supports proportional steering when used with their 6-port battery pack. Quote

BatteryPoweredBricks Posted August 19 Posted August 19 A commenter on that video mentioned they used to be proportional, stepless even, but they burned up batteries or some other design flaw. It's been years since I've looked into it so the details are a bit fuzzy and there may have been developments in the meantime. I mostly use servos for 2 or 3 positions like controlling monorail mono-switches so the cheap ones online work fine for me Quote

But what does stepless mean? Quote
