Norrington Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Allright, I was thinking, and when I MOC, I tend to have some sort of music on in the backround that relates to what I'm building. S, here is a list of CDs that may be useful to you. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Composed by Hans Zimmer & Klaus Badelt Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest Compoed by Hans Zimmer Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Composed by Hans Zimmer Walt Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Composed by Paul J. Smith, Restored by John Debney Note: Unlike most others, this Soundtrack is only avalible on iTunes in digital form. Despite rigourous marketing of the movie in the 50's, Disney has never arranged for it to released mainstream. Age of Empires III Composed by Stephen Rippy Pirates of the Caribbean 40th Anniversary CD Composed by George Burns, Xavier Atencio Featuring voice talents of Thurl Ravenscroft and Paul Frees Note: This soundtrack is avalible only in Disney theme parks and from DelivEars. JopieK Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 (edited) What about RelientK with the Pirates that don't do anything, or the Veggietales variety :p and the RelientK guys: I keep editting, but: http://www.veggiepirates.com/home.html (they play the song on the site) with extra effects ;) Edited August 28, 2008 by JopieK Quote
Admiral Bejaune Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I sometimes turn on my Old Xbox (the original one, not the 360) and put on the very first pirates of the caribbean game. The game has really nothing to do with the first potc movie, but you do run into the Pearl some. Anyways I believe this game is the sequel to Sea Dogs, and you can go to port and walk around and go to various shops. I always go to the tavern because the music there is what I associate with pirates. It historically accurate music too. I suggest that everyone who has an old xbox to find this game... Its cheap, and is a great game with amazing graphics. Its a role playing game with first person views allowing you to walk along the deck of your ship. And there are many kinds of vessels to steal or buy. You can do whatever you want in the game as well. Anyhow I recommend this game for the gameplay and the Music. Here is the box. Quote
Norrington Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 What about RelientK with the Pirates that don't do anything, or the Veggietales variety :pand the RelientK guys: I keep editting, but: http://www.veggiepirates.com/home.html (they play the song on the site) with extra effects ;) Well, this list is by no means comprehensive. These are just the things I listen to while I MOC. There are others I listen to, but they're musicals, and consquently have nothing to do with pirates. Quote

DJ Force Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Tropico 2 -The Pirate´s Cove has a VERY good soundtrack! You can even buy a Soundtrack CD, it appears on ebay sometimes. But there are only 5 songs on it. Best is to buy the game (it´s not that expensive after all) and record the music while playing the game (it´s a very good game after all ) Quote
Pencoin Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 It was interesting. I'm sure I heard it before, but I don't know where. It appears on ads alot . Quote
Fluyt Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) The music from the monkey island games is great as well, especially the main theme and the scumm bar song. Here's guitar versions of them on youtube: Theme/intro and a piano version of a lot of music from MI: Edited September 6, 2008 by Fluyt Quote
ghoulrealm Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 A classic tune by a men's chior From Tanglefoot 1 of many great songs by disneyland live preformers. I believe they're called the Bootstrappers. The group Great Big Sea Great Big Sea - Captain Kidd I sometimes do a general search of sea "shanty" or "chantey" and usually find songs of a more traditional style. I've collected a few piratey MIDI's as well and that's how I learned to play "I'm a Pirate" from PotC on piano. At the moment, I am in search of the Cutthroat Island soundtrack. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Ah. I think I remember replying in a topic very similar to this not too long ago. No matter! I agree with you. Music does really help MOCing. At least that's my opinion. Sadly though, I can't find the Age of Empires soundtrack avalible for download on limewire or on the net. But I do have all of the POTC soundtracks, so that gives me my pirate music fix. Regards, Captain Zuloo Quote
