MightyThorngren Posted yesterday at 03:06 PM Posted yesterday at 03:06 PM (edited) So this isn't really a MOC, though I did modify the set as there were some faulty bits in the instructions. This is a set review/overview and letting you all know about this cool value. When Amazon was having their Prime Day, this random Pirate set showed in my feed and looked real cool. Not proper Lego, but an alternative. I'm no snob and it looked to have great parts in it (IF the brick quality is good). Spent the $26 on it to take the bullet for you all. Thankfully I can repet that other than the light brick being a worthless addition and minor instruction problems, its a winner. Its very good quality and a lot of fun. I did a video review if you want to see it in full action and all the various modularity, options. the rope from the crows nest to the deck was too short so I had to modify the mast to be shorter and use a single 1x4 brown brick from outside the set. I also changed how the mast for the small ship worked. And of course, all Lego minifigure are my own from outside, though the set did come with a classic red parrot, a crab, a seagull and a classic monkey in light nougat color. The set has some connections points with the dock and jail/crowsnest being removable to out in different spots and the main shack unfolding to spread out abd give access. The set is pretty sturdy, very playable, and it makes a good display if your too adult to goof with your sets after you build em. It scratched an itch I hadn't had scratched with a "new" set in a long time. I was really bummed out I had no funds to preorder that Tortuga Bricklink set, but for $310 less this makes a great budget alternative. I highly recommend picking one up. But check out my video if you like. I took tons of photos, but I cant get them to upload because it says they are too big even though they are small files. Here's the link I copied from Amazon. It seems to have left the sale for $26 and is now $30. But that's still a good deal https://a.co/d/1UWiFtR Edited yesterday at 03:07 PM by MightyThorngren Quote
SpacePolice89 Posted yesterday at 03:25 PM Posted yesterday at 03:25 PM (edited) Fake Lego . This belongs in the community section and not Lego Pirates because it isn't Lego, it's pirated Pirate Lego. Edited yesterday at 03:28 PM by SpacePolice89 Quote

Over the last decade, as Lego quality has lowered, many third parties have raised their quality. Now its much more even. I have probably 40 or 60 bricks of Lego that have cracked on me over just the past three years, don't tell me Lego is a bastion of quality. And don't get me started on poor prints and off center Lego stickers. They all click the same and its the same designs. Heck, this set brought back old molds like the Monkey we can't get from the leading brand these days. And part of the gamble getting this set was the quality of parts, but Im reporting these bricks are very good quality. I posted it here because this is a place people talk about Pirates. I dont know anywhere else that's all about Pirate. I figured it would be welcomed here as its all about loving Pirate adventures and brick building. I didn't think the tiny logo on the stud mattered. I put it in this general pirates and not Pirate MOCs because I didn't design it myself. I honestly don't understand your reaction. It reminds me of the kids in elementary school that made fun of me for having Payless shoes instead of the cool Nike and Reebok kicks. There's no need to be mean or elitist about it. Quote

Sorry if my response sounded mean or elitist. That was not my intention. I only wanted to point out that this is the wrong place for fake Lego posts in a way I thought was funny. Other brands regardless of theme belong in the community section. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Yep, Eurobricks remains a site dedicated to LEGO both as a system and a brand, and not the alternatives and competitors. There have always been alternatives and competitors, and Eurobricks has never been about them. If they work for you, that's all well and good! Quote
