LEGO rope/string replacement (Cord Thin x77ac75 & Medium Thickness x77cc35)

Looking for the typical strings in Lego sets. Bricklinks offers are more than ridicolous. Should be kind of a replica. Any suggestions or links to shops? Appreciate it :)

Also quite expensive. I am more looking to buy 10m cord on Amazon. The set in question is 6542; so far I found out that the diameter is 0.5mm, but there are different info about the material: cotton, nylon, braided, wax etc.

Use what I used for a ship years ago - model ship rigging thread. No seriously, it's practically identical to Lego rope. No fuzz. They sell it at hobby shops (not all have it) if you want to see it in person, or you can order online.

Do you have any link? So far I am still looking...

I have found a substitute for x77cc35 (Cord Medium Thickness); but it´s not perfect.

I am still looking for x77ac75 (Cord Thin)...I have tried like 30 strings from Amazon, but impossible to find one...

Also LEGO support can´t tell me about the material or anything other...but I hope many more people had or have this problem, so please help me out here :-)

So far I have found out for the Cord Thin:

- 0,5mm diameter

- 60% cotton, 40% polyester

- not waxed ("stiff")

But Google can´t find anything...it´s such a pain in the a...

It´s the same? Do you have some pictures?

When I have ships and other sets that doesn't have official rope that is what I have used. I used it for the Renegade Runner in the picture.

Do you have original and this substitute and can you put them near each other and send a photo? :-)

And do you also use the thin one? I know that some older ships using also the thin one.

I have never used any other replicas or thin ones except the official ones that comes with sets.

They are next to each other. I'm holding the replica while my Black Seas Barracuda has the original.

Okay thanks...I have found one substitute for medium thickness...so still looking for the thin one...super difficult to find something

I went to a well large, supplied hobby shop (the kind with model trains) that stocked a couple of different model ship rigging threads, then looked at them in person and picked out the best one. I did only ever get a replacement for the thickness that's used in ropes the have a stud on each end though.
