Moose Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I know there's some pirate figs of old that have official names (ie Redbeard, Kahuka, Woodhouse) but there's some i don't know (Bo'Sun, Will). Could someone possibly list all the officially named figs along with pictures? thanks! Quote

El Bucanero Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Interesting question Moose, that would be quit a nice list! As for the names, the only one I didn't know first that comes to mind right now is Spinoza. I believe that's the name of the monkey "Blockbeard" was the only name I came across. I'm pretty sure it's Brickbeard, Mr Phes, or have I had too much lemonade booze? Quote
Kamzel Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 (edited) I think that he was called Rummy. Then of course there is Governor Broadside: ...and Lieutenant de Martinet Edited August 22, 2008 by Kamzel Quote
Darth_Legois Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=M 'Nuff said. Well not realy [ ] it only has afew names.... Quote
Norrington Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Of course, Sorry for lack of pics, but here are some names: B'sun Will Captain Redbeard Rummy Governor Broadside Lt. De Martinet Captain Ironhook Admiral Woodhouse And the greatest of the LEGo pirates, Steve. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 30, 2008 Governor Posted August 30, 2008 I'm pretty sure it's Brickbeard, Mr Phes, or have I had too much lemonade booze? Yes Mister Tiber, those lemons are very potent and have mind altering effects. They're the sole reason I'm so crazy!!! Anyway, I've turned my first post in this thread into an index. I think I've got all the names, let me know if I've missed something. Quote
Dreamweb Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Bo'Sun Will (in Set 6235 Buried Treasure) Actually I don't think that's him. Bo'Sun Will is a beardless pirate in red clothes, as seen in the comic: http://media.peeron.com/scans/6255-1/2/ He is also one of the minifigs that were added to the comic itself (along with Rummy): http://media.peeron.com/pics/inv/setpics/6....1143399383.jpg And we finally see him as a prisoner in Lagoon Lockup: http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?q=6267_1&v=z Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 30, 2008 Governor Posted August 30, 2008 Actually I don't think that's him. Bo'Sun Will is a beardless pirate in red clothes, as seen in the comic: The 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992 UK & Australian catalogues had a description for 6235 Buried Treasure which read "Bo'Sun Will with pirate gold and his monkey" Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Can I ask where the name Steve (the Merchant in 6277 Imperial Trading Post) was published that just seems a rather odd name for a Lego character? Quote
jamtf Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Can I ask where the name Steve (the Merchant in 6277 Imperial Trading Post) was published that just seems a rather odd name for a Lego character? Nowhere except in a forum here long time ago. It was a thread about the rare pirate with the brown vest that only appears in 6277 Imperial Trading Post (wearing brown tricorne and blue legs) and 6286 Skulls Eye Schooner (wearing black tricorne and grey legs). Someone decided to call the merchant from 6277 "Steve" and this name was from then on more or less adopted as the unofficial name for that character. If we refer to "Steve", you will know it's him, that red bearded merchant with the brown vest from the small vessel in the 6277 Imperial Trading Post set. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Thanks for that jamtf, I shall remeber who steve is from known on. Quote
Dreamweb Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 (edited) The 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992 UK & Australian catalogues had a description for 6235 Buried Treasure which read "Bo'Sun Will with pirate gold and his monkey" If so, then it was Lego's obviuos mistake as the minifig from that set looks nothing like Bo'Sun Will from the comic, and why would they be adding a minifig which looks much more like Will to the comic book set if he wasn't supposed to actually BE Bo'Sun Will? Edited September 1, 2008 by Dreamweb Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 1, 2008 Governor Posted September 1, 2008 I cannot answer that for you Mr Dreamweb. I presume the set the predates both the comic and the Ladybird book series, so the character was changed for the sake of that media. But if you don't believe me then I shall have to scan a catalogue one day. Quote
Dreamweb Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I believe you. Oh well, just an inconsistency on Lego's part... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 1, 2008 Governor Posted September 1, 2008 Well, I'll still get a catalogue scan one day - I believe it would be interesting to see catalogue pages from each region as the name of the mini-figure may vary from region to region. Quote
