Sven J Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Hi all, as part 78257 is finally available in tan, I was able to build a modified version of my previous model, depicting a livery which was applied to virtually hundreds of Aeroflot An-2s. Other modifications include more prototypical wing bracing, slightly re-shaped (slimmer) rear fuselage, additional struts for the main landing gear, transparent cockpit windows (I had to use two 3rd-party elements here, for Lego doesn't produce the 99563 ingot in trans-clear), greater structural stability of the whole fuselage and a brand new display stand. Judge for yourself: Thanks for stopping by! Best regards, Sven Quote
Max_Lego Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Impressive. Most impressive... For its small scale, it's very well designed. I like how detailed it looks. Good job! Quote
Sven J Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 (edited) Thank you very much, @Max_Lego and @Shiva! A question to the admins (maybe @Ecclesiastes or @Rufus): This topic is marked "featured" (and thank you for that!), but doesn't appear on the front page. I presume that's a mistake? Feuer Zug Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Great job putting so much detail in a small aircraft. Well done. Quote

Ecclesiastes Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Somehow, it has something to do with the url of your images. But frontpaged it the old-school way Quote
Sven J Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 @Ecclesiastes I knew it must be my fault... Seriously: No idea what went wrong there, I just embedded Flickr images as always. Anyway, thank you very much for sorting it out manually! Quote
Elysiumfountain Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I love the details! Especially the propeller in motion! Quote
Sven J Posted June 24 Author Posted June 24 Thank you @Elysiumfountain and @KpopQueen - I'm glad you like it! 17 hours ago, Elysiumfountain said: Especially the propeller in motion! I have also built a regular 4-blade propeller. But I find it strange to see a model plane put on a display stand, so as to present it in flight, and then the propeller is standing still. So I came up with that transparent dish. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I think I've already seen one of your planes (or am I remembering wrong?) ...wonderful details for the landing gear, but the detail I like the most is the effect of the propeller in motion: when I saw the first photo I said "wow" ...not true ...I said a big "WOW"! Sven J Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 Thanks @LEGO Train 12 Volts! 23 hours ago, LEGO Train 12 Volts said: I think I've already seen one of your planes (or am I remembering wrong?) I guess that was the first version (or maybe the Tu-144D). However, I'm much more satisfied with the improved version and its new colour. Of course the differences are subtle, but I think the whole appearance is more realistic now. Quote

Sven J Posted Sunday at 04:48 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:48 PM Instructions for the An-2 are now available here! As I decided to give up my Rebrickable account, more .io files and instructions will be added to my cloud drive over the next few weeks. Quote
Shiva Posted Tuesday at 06:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:39 PM Ohh, missed those rebrickable news... I should check that I have the instructions to the stuff I bought from there. + cheers for the instructions. Quote
