djm Posted June 15 Posted June 15 (edited) At a recent display, one of the members of my LUG had a Friends display that contained a zipline. Since I like MOCs which contain an element of movement, naturally I asked, "Does it go" (i.e. meaning do they go up and down the zipline), to which the answer was "No". So I offered to come up with something that would remedy that. This is what I came up with: The building instructions for it are available for free download on rebrickable.com. Although the instructions indicate a 32L axle as the "line", it also works with a suitable long rigid 3mm hose, with a Bar Holder with Handle on each end with a 1.5mm round brass rod (such as these) inserted in the hose to provide suitable stiffness to the hose. I picked up the brass rod from my local mitre10 (a hardware store). Edited June 15 by djm Link correction. Quote
Aurorasaurus Posted June 15 Posted June 15 I like it a lot! It would be cool to see it integrated into a build, perhaps two linked treehouses? I suppose it wouldn't be technic then, but.. eh... Also- its nice to see someone else from auckland building with technic! Quote
JopieK Posted June 15 Posted June 15 @djm very nicely done! Simple but works like a charm. I like the suggestion of @Aurorasaurus for two linked treehouses very much! Quote

We have a public display in July at Riverhead, so they may have had a chance to incorporate it into their display for that. If so, I'll post a picture. Quote
MikeTheBuilder Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Very cool! I'd love to make a cable car one day - it could operate like this Quote
