I have a question about set 4184 The Black Pearl and Lego part (cannon) - Projectile Launcher Part, Cannon Base 2 x 4 - color.

I found out that although on BrickLink or other sites of this type, the color of this part is listed as Reddish Brown, I found out that there is also a Brown, or should I say light brown, Lego supposedly had to alternate colors in this set, so I want to ask if anyone has this set or knows how it is with the colors, I have this set and it seems to me that there is more brown. I was looking on YT and some people really have brown rather than reddish brown, I bought the set used and was wondering how the colors are.

There were "old" brown as opposed to reddish brown versions of the cannon base in vintage sets, but the last set to contain that colour was from 2002 - the reissued Fort Legoredo. So I doubt they would have included old brown in a set as late as 2011.

My pearl has reddish brown cannon bases but they are incredibly fragile these days.

 I snapped one simply by moving it.
