MKJoshA Posted yesterday at 02:04 PM Posted yesterday at 02:04 PM With the destruction of the Death Star II every faction across the galaxy feels the repercussions. The Rebel Alliance and other Light Side sympathizers have a chance to set up a base the Empire can't get rid of easily. The Imperials and other Dark Side sympathizers have to find a new base of operations with there being so much turmoil on Coruscant. And Mercenaries all over the galaxy see a golden opportunity to stake their claim. Each group decided it was time to set up a permanent base of operations. But where? Contest Specifics: As we launch Season 2, each team has the opportunity to pick a planet to be their home base. This planet can be anywhere in the galaxy, regardless of current access. Each team must declare, in this topic, which planet they are picking before posting any episode entries. The planet each team picks may not be one that has any points already on it. Nor may it be in a contested zone. It also cannot be a planet on one of the 5 main hyperspace routes. After picking a home base, that planet cannot be contested by any of the other teams and will act as a permanent safe zone for the team. After gaining control of the home planet, team members will have a new perk. Any player who wants to build on a planet they don't have access too (the most prevalent reason being story purposes) can register it to their home planet and still gain XP. For example, if a Dark Side player wanted to build on Yavin IV, which they don't have access to right now, they could build something set on that planet but register it to their home planet still allowing them to earn XP for their team. For the next 3 months, any entries on the home planet will earn double XP. This will allow teams to take control of their new homes faster. The Rules: All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation or the rules above. There are no restrictions on the size/form/content of the builds other than the specifics described above. You may build as many entries as you like. The Episode will run from May 4th to Aug 4th. As long as it is still Aug 4th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will only earn normal XP points. The criteria by which your MOCs will be scored is 1) Storytelling, 2) Aesthetics, and 3) Technical Ability. You can earn up to 10 points in each category for a max total of 30 points per entry. This episode/contest is open to all players of Mysteries, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the episode has begun. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to the start date of this episode. You can use creations for this contest in other forums or contests, but it should not have been displayed before the start date for this contest. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. 3rd party parts may be allowed if used to customize characters and in small quantities. I.E. guns or decals. 3rd party bricks are not allowed to be intentionally used (if you have a Megablock 2x2 brick in a wall of Lego bricks you won't be penalized). You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited,. All entries will be entered by the GM using this form: Link to Submission Form Quote

(At least for me, I don't fully understand ) A good example is Max's question here. He wants to build in the Unknown Regions to finish off a story. But that wouldn't give his team any XP points. With the home planet, he can build a story set in the Unknown Regions and claim it for XP on the home planet. Quote
Professor Thaum Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Should the home planet be in unknown region in this precise case ? Or do the XPs applies to the Home Planet whereever it is ? Quote

Or do the XPs applies to the Home Planet whereever it is ? Hypothetically suppose the Dark Side picked Eclipse in L11 as their home planet. Max could then build a MOC set in the unknown regions, but registered to Eclipse in L11. The XP would go to Eclipse and not to the unknown regions location where he build. Another scenario, if someone really wants to build on Dathomir but doesn't have access, they could still do so but register it to their home planet and get XP. The home planet is a way to build MOCs for XP that wouldn't otherwise be eligible. Quote
Max_Lego Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Great thanks for such a nice opportunity, @MKJoshA! Yet it's up to @Professor Thaum to decide, where our home planet will be. I still hope it may be in the Unknown Regions though Quote
