Aquaraiders

Hey Gang,

I'm posting here cause I think its the right place, sorry if it isn't.

Being in the UK I've never got any of the Aquaraiders sets.

I have 2 questions:

1. The eyes on the domes, are they stickers?

2. If someone has any, can they post pictures?

I would have thought this is a fine place for Aquanaughts!

I've seen these in past LEGO catalogues and have wondered a simliar thing myself. And lets not forget that this theme brought us octopi, mantaray, saw shark and great white sharks. All of which integrates very well into Pirates.

Yes, the eyes are stickers. :)

As are the teeth on the underside of the 2160 Crystal Scavenger cockpit

and on the sides of the excavator bucket in the 2161 Aquadozer.

2. If someone has any, can they post pictures?

I'd love to post some pictures. Unfortunately I don't have a camera,

digital or otherwise. So, sorry, no joy. :(

I was on holiday in the USA, while they were in their final year.

The only set I saw at the time was the Aquadozer. One shop had three of them left.

When I walked out it had none. :)

Yes, the eyes are stickers. :)

But seriously thanks for the info, I've been thinking of Bricklinking these sets, and now I know those stupid eyes can be gotten rid of, I'm gonna do it.

Stupid thing is, I was in the states when they were out and KNEW they weren't out in the UK, but that was one of my non lego years.

I have heard, but don't do this without testing it first, that BRASSO can remove prints of of transparent parts. I myself have never tried this on transparent parts but I know it works wonders on torsos and solid colored parts. I also heard that if the transparent part is scratched up it can restore a smooth finish and make it shiny again. Never tested it but if anyone does let us know how it works out.
